This is Roberto's house (Roberto being the owner...and yes, he does look like the actor Omar Shariff) . Being run by a husband and wife then you can expect things to be on auto-pilot. The breakfast is a bit lacking, but the couple running the B&B are very friendly. The beds were ok. Wi-Fi was good. The rooms a bit too "Louis XIV" but passable if you only stay there for few days. One thing that is great is PARKING! Right in front. The location of the hotel is also pretty good (in the back of PIazza Grande)
Where do I begin? This hotel is perfectly situated in the walls of Montepulciano and has parking if you are driving in. It is walking distance from Piazza Grande. The best part of the stay is the Roberto (Omar Sharif) and his wife. They are extremely welcoming, friendly and will do almost anything you ask them. I kid you not once you meet Roberto you will not forget him. He is a treasure. We are in the Italy Travel Business and I will be strongly recommending this hotel for all of our customers. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Wifi works well and the back terrace to relax is nice. There are not many choices in Montepulciano walls but here you go.
It was great to stay in the centre of Montepulciano for one night, and the location was perfect for exploring during our short stay. The owners were very friendly and it was great to have free parking right by the hotel (we had paid up to €20 per night elsewhere). However, 3 stars due to a bad night of sleep from a very soft and saggy mattress and quite a bit of noise on the street outside our room (although it was a Friday night to be fair).
We stayed for 2 nights in this hidden gem of a hotel. The owners are so welcoming and helpful (particularly useful when trying to find the hotel as we parked outside the walls and walked up to find it and Vittoria drove us down to collect our car so we could follow her back up) the free parking is great but the roads are narrow and windy ! The hotel is on many levels, with 2 lovely terraces (one for breakfast) and an "up door" and a "down door" giving access to different parts of the town. Our room was very comfortable with grand Venetian style fittings, a little lounge and a quirky narrow bathroom. There is no air con but a ceiling fan did the trick for us. The best thing about this hotel was the warm and generous welcome from the hosts Roberto and Vittoria. They insisted we should treat their hotel as our own house (mia casa e tua casa!) they were friendly, kind and helpful and Roberto was very entertaining especially when serving you up a delightful breakfast of croissant, cakes, yogurts, fruit, cold meats and cheeses and fruit juice and coffee in his own special style - I would recommend this hotel to all !…
We found this place very difficult to locate as our gps kept directing us to a tiny lane that couldn’t be navigated by car. It’s in the town at the top of the hill and is difficult to navigate. Eventually found how to get in with the help of the owner.reserved street parking out the front of the hotel was a bonus but upon being shown to our room we find it was down several long sets of stairs - not suitable for elderly or infirm people and needs to be noted in the description of the hotel. The owner was friendly and keen to show us the prepaid cool drink and wine available. We had to leave early so didn’t have breakfast. The room itself was clean and had a tv but with no air conditioning and when the windows were open the noise of people in the street disturbed us late that night. Bathroom had a good sized shower for Italy and all toiletries, towels. Overall an average place in a difficult location that needs to be clear about the stairs and lack of a/c…
