A fabulous place where we instantly felt at home. We had a great room with a view over the valley - even though it rained the owners made us feel welcome and homely. A great breakfast. Super helpful with booking a taxi to Chiusi. Wonderful - we want to come back soon!
I absolutely loved our stay here. The owner was so kind and welcoming and provided excellent service you rarely see these days. The rooms were comfortable and we could not get over the absolute beauty of the view from our bedroom window (room #4). Breakfast was 8 euro and completely worth it. They had homemade pastries and baked goods to choose from, cappuccinos, fresh fruit juice, and a spread of cheese, prosciutto and bread. Best 8 euro breakfast ever. The town is quaint and the people are lovely. We only stayed one night but we highly recommend it. This hotel has been in their family for generations and it felt good to support their family owned business. Hedgehogs galore decorate the hotel which added to it's charm.
Went to this little charming city with one of the best italian wine to spend one day and found Meuble il Riccio with friendly and attentive staffs. Room is confortable and has a magnificent view. I would return again!
Our first visit to this region was an incredibly wonderful experience. One of the highlights was our stay with Giorgio and Ivana. They are the ultimate host and hostess. We were welcomed from our very first step into their home. We would definitely return to Montepulciano to stay at the Meuble Il Riccio. Thank you both.
Our room had a beautiful view of the Val di Chiana and the breakfast of homemade pastries was excellent. What really distinguished Il Riccio was our host's helpfulness: when we called from outside the city wall to ask about parking (the lot with the hotel's usual spaces had been commandeered by the city for the Christmas market) he came with his van to lead us to approved parking and give us a ride to the hotel. Our hosts also went the extra mile on departure, getting up early to get us breakfast and check us out. We look forward to returning. The only drawback I can think of was that the bathroom was small and short of counter space (not unusual in independent hotels). Also, it's on the second floor of its building and our room was on the third; we didn't need or look for an elevator and happily used the stairs, but others may need to ask about that.…
