We stayed at Bellavista for 3 nights - the location was superb, staff friendly and accommodating. We had a car so booked the parking & 18Euros a day - some other accommodation do not charge for this. Restaurant food was good but variety not enough to eat there every day and my husband loved pizza which they don’t do so we had to eat elsewhere every day. Pool was a bonus and gave you the flexibility of staying at the hotel or sightseeing. Bar served great drinks at the pool as well. Overall I would recommend this hotel and the location as we were not disappointed.

Very bad service! The hotel has a nice location and a beautiful view, but that is all there is to it! The staff is very unfriendly, even rude. They roll their eyes, scream at customers... I have never experienced anything like this. We had dinner in their restaurant the first evening. We had to wait for an hour for our table while other people who came in later and did not have a reservation got a table immediately. When we were at the table, the staff started arguing about us while we were standing next to them. Breakfast was one big chaos. I will never come back!

Rooms are ok, but nothing special. Even the new rooms look like they are old school. But the bad rating is due to the poor hospitality of the stuff. We stayed two nights at the hotel and they didn’t allow us to use the pool at the day of check out. The told reason was that they have to keep the places at the pool for the new arrivals. At the time we asked there have been empty spaces at the pool an. It was before check-in time. We even explained that we would leave when new guests are arriving but they still didn’t let us use the pool. The only answer was „just no“. I travel a lot and never experienced something like this.

Lovely hotel with a perfect view. We had a balcony room with lake views - stunning!!! Staff friendly and amenable, room was clean and facilities were good; powerful shower, big bed and effective air con. Hotel is located near the town square, within close distance of shops restaurants and bars. Would nightly recommend staying here if you visit Menaggio.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting lake Como, this hotel is in the most amazing location right beside the lake. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful as were the bar staff and waiters. The rooms are clean and air conditioned and much more modern than the hotel downstairs which has more of an old Italian feel which will appeal to many. In summary a great hotel in a fantastic location with great staff. We hope to see you all again next year.

The room we had on the second floor had a great view and the hotel is close to the ferry but the WiFi didn’t work at all , we were given just one bottle of water for 2 days, service was none existent, we were given a tiny toothbrush that had tiny toothpaste in it already, thankfully we didn’t stay more than 2 days, if I stay here again it will be only for the view...

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Bellavista. We had a room on the first floor with a balcony and great views over looking the lake. The room itself was clean and provided everything we needed although it was abit right on space to open up our 2 suitcases! The WiFi was hit and miss but we found that in most places in Lake Como anyway! The buffet breakfast was a let down, overpriced and not many options. Overall a good stay.

This hotel was booked by our Adventure company and it was comfortable but not amazing. We had a first floor room overlooking the road and had to keep windows closed because of noisy traffic outside (in a queue for the lights)-but luckily the air-conditioning was efficient. The room and en-suite bathroom were clean and the bed comfortable. Some of the staff were delightful, especially the young man who showed us to our room and greeted us every time we returned to the hotel. One lady on reception was also very helpful. But too many staff were solemn and seemed irritated when asked ordinary questions-we had not experienced this anywhere else on our trip. The view from the terrace is beautiful, but we did not spend long there. Overall our stay was satisfactory but this hotel could be better, with its lovely location.

Stayed at The Bellavista for 3 nights in June. We booked a Standard Balcony Lake View Room with breakfast included and it was perfect for what we wanted. The ferry arrives just a few minutes easy walk away so no problem getting here with the luggage. On arrival we were greeted by a very nice helpful lady at reception and while waiting for our room we enjoyed a complimentary drink and nibbles on their terrace with that beautiful view of the Lake. Our room was very modern with quiet aircon, a fridge, a safe and all you need for a very comfortable stay plus a reasonable sized balcony with that wonderful view again. It was also very peaceful at night so no problem sleeping at all. After spending the previous nights in Bellagio, Menaggio was quieter, flatter for walking and had a nice frontage leading along to The Lido which is obviously very popular with the Italians on holiday. The Bellavista's pool right on the front overlooking Lake Como was certainly refreshing and had enough loungers and places to sit to sunbathe until the early evening. Towels for the pool are available from reception. Breakfasts were quite basic with 2 small plates of fruit (peaches and melon), ham & cheese, rolls, croissants, toast and lovely Juice. Coffee was from a machine and the Capuccino was pretty good. There was only one waitress managing breakfast and she appeared a little stressed at times. This was the opposite to the restaurant in the evening when there were plenty of waiters available. We had dinner there the one night (and used our 10% off voucher you receive on arrival) . We had the baked Perch which my husband enjoyed but I found it a bit dry and bland for the price. The restaurant is quite expensive but it certainly has one of the best views in Menaggio from that terrace so it is a pleasure to eat there. Just wish I had chosen the Lamb instead. The other nights we dined out in Osteria Il Pozzo (just off the square) and Pizzeria Lugano (up the very top end of the main street to the left). Both were excellent. During our stay we used the Buggy/Express train (from the square) to go to Villa Carlotta and spent several hours there enjoying the wonderful gardens and the Villa itself. We visited Villa Carlotta on the way and then continued the buggy train ride to the end of the trip at Lecco where it stops for a while and then back to Menaggio. All in all, we had a great stay at The Bellavista and would visit again if ever back in Menaggio. Una bella vacanza.
