Had an awesome evening meal, the views from the terrace were superb, and to match it we had a fab meal too - the host was very friendly and attentive and well worth the visit! The mussels were the biggest and tastiest we'd ever tried, along with the beef with rocket and Parmesan :-)

The view from the restaurant terrace is simply outstanding with sunsets which one will always remember. Very friendly staff, fantastic Italian food and the local Mirto is a must. Every room has a terrace with a view out to the sea. Wonderful.

L'Oleandro is an excellent place for Geology groups who study the geology of L'Isola d'Elba. I selected this hotel for a 1-night stay with a group of 17: 2 faculty with 15 geology students. As evidence of suitability: the upper floor of the Hotel is constructed >around< a native rock that contains lovely K feldspar phenocrysts! There is a fantastic... More

First of all we have say ciao to Mario, who is an extraordinary person that takes care of all the people's needs, professionally but with a great sense of humour. To describe hotel L'Oleandro is very difficult, because I think there are no words to describe the fantastic blue colours of the private beach under the hotel, the amazing sunset... More

So much of a "secret" it won't remain for a long. Absolutely fabulous location and great personal service! Kind of a family style Italian hotel which brings back memories of the past "good old hospitality of Italy", which is so often forgotten in the big hotel resorts of today. Even though the rooms are relatively simple, they are nice and... More

Originally we booked this hotel on Elba because of low price, but we did not do our research before heading off on the last ferry to Elba island. What we did not realize is that the hotel is about 25km from the ferry port of Portoferraio. When we arrived on Elba after midnight we were informed that the buses were... More

Calm, peaceful, unpretentious place in the most beautiful location, with the most beautiful view, and superb food. All rooms with a terrace overlooking the sea, and a big terrace belonging to the restaurant to have breakfast and lunch or dinner. Off the beaten path. Very simle and basic, but well worth it.

The Hotel location is superb. The view from the balcony and restaurant are stunning. Unfortunately the Hotel shows its age, mattresses are worn the interior design if you can call it that is dated, 1 closet which has not been cleaned in some time and a lovely picture of the fire escape route!! The bathroom is at best small. Taking... More

The hotel is on a relatively isolated headland from which the bedrooms overlook the small private beach at the bottom of a steep path. From the dining room terrace we enjoyed magnificent sunsets over Corsica and a 180 degree view of the sea. From the hotel paths lead to another more popular and accessible cove and along the coast and... More

Hotel L'Oleandro is a simple but enchanting hotel, situated on a small hill at 50 meters over the sea, at the Cotoncello, very near to Capo Sant'Andrea. The panorama is simply fantastic - 'a the terrace over the tuscan arcipelago' - Corsica, the Capraia island, the tuscan coast line are there, just in front of you, giving this sensation of absolute well-being and relax. The transparent and crystal clear sea is less than 100 meters away and can be reached over a small private path through the mediterranean macchia vegetation, or following the small street direction Sant'Andrea, at just 400 meters there is the beautiful small Cotoncello beach with its gorgeous cliffs, and from there with a small walk of a few minutes you can reach the sandy beach of Sant'Andrea. The hotel offers Bed & Breakfast or Half Board accommodation. In the morning our breakfast is served inside or on the panoramic terrace during the warmer months with a rich buffet. For dinner our kitchen offers genuine mediterranean dishes with fresh fish and meat and the choice between 3 starters, 3 main dishes, 2 side dishes and deserts. Our 16 rooms are simple but welcoming, all with independent entrance, large terraces (equipped with table, chairs, deck chiars and sun umbrella) or balconies with sea view, private baths, TV, hair-dryer and air-conditioning. The hotel is also the ideal departure place for those who love trekking, in fact, numerous walks through the beauties of the 'National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago' simply start here, or for those who are fans of snorkeling: the small pebble beach just under the hotel can be the beginning of fantastic excursions along our coast... ... more   less
