I recently held a retirement celebration at The Auberge. There were 44 people at the Sunday afternoon do and Head Chef Mark put on an excellent buffet at extremely good value for money. We had the place to ourselves and there was a good number of staff around to make sure the food was readily available and fresh. The party...

We could not fault the accommodation and dining experience. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean with top quality cotton bedding. Everything was excellent including the hospitality. We were visiting the Auberge as my husband's great great grandfather and his family were listed as living there on the 1851 census. I am sure it is considerably more upmarket than in...

Despite living only a few miles away I had not visited the Auberge before. Foolish. We tried it for dinner on my wife's birthday and were not disappointed. An enthusiastic and genuine welcome and very good food. My three children were made to feel special. Imaginative menu and an interesting wine list. We have already booked to return....

Stopped here in room 7 for valentines. Booked through booking.com for £70 including breakfast. On arrival we were met by a friendly chap whom showed us to our room in the new part of the building. Our room was the first through the entrance door, which I was concerned about due to noise of people coming and going, I needed...

What a great "restaurant with rooms", though this title doesn't do them justice ... The Auberge was fantastic. They had been recommended to us, mainly for the restaurant, by nearby Debenham Antiques that we were visiting on a furniture hunting trip (very successful as they have a wonderful selection). When we rang to book a night's stay The Auberge offered...

A fantastic evening, food was superb, rooms 5 star and service first class and so friendly. All my 27 guests thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. I too had a marvellous time - thank you. Look forward to returning soon.

Lovely place with could not be nicer folks. Rooms are modern but dressed up in keeping the the dining room which is pretty old. And there is nothing wrong with either. Having an evening engagement lunch and breakfast were our meals there and were excellent. Good value for the money. Happy to go back if in the area.

Got there just as it was opened for lunch. As we were first in we got a warm welcome & had time to chat with owner. Nice dining area with some beautiful lemons &a limes as table decorations. Ordered a Brie, bacon & cranberry baguette and Spaghetti with Rabbit with cream & cheese. Both very good but personally thought rabbit...

We stayed 15/17-09-15 in a super room with a varied breakfast each day supplied with great service and super food. The location is remote from a town but has excellent local walks and very good car parking.

Stayed for one Sunday night over bank holiday. The owner met us, and gave us a quick tour and was extremely friendly and helpful. Our ground floor room in the 2nd block was designed for wheelchair access, so may have been bigger than others, but was a lovely size. Not necessarily a romantic set up, i imagine lots of business...
