#60 of 86 in Livigno
Hotel Pare is a welcoming, friendly hotel. Dedicated to sports lovers and those who like the peace and quiet. The hotel is perfectly situated for the Mottolino ski area, located directly at the bottom of the large black piste dedicated to the Livigno based champion, Giorgio Rocca. All our rooms are simple and comfortable, they bring in the atmosphere of the Mountains, with the timber covings, warm colours and scents. All rooms include telephone, television, Hairdryer and security-box. In our Restaurant you can enjoy fantastic views over the valley of Livigno, whilst eating typical dishes from the Valtellina area which are at the centre of a great number of dining proposals, but the chef's cooking also extends to other regions, to offer a constant variety of menus and flavors. The hotel has its own wellness centre with pool, sauna and fitness corner for you to relax or workout.

Good: Location - right at the bottom of a (black) slope just a few meters from the ski lift and ski pass purchase point. Shuttle bus stops in front of the hotel. Great ski rental/service shop. Pretty good size pool (not heated). Bathrobes. O.K. service. Finger food served before dinner in the bar area to go with themed (different every evening) before-dinner drinks. Good WiFi. Room with balcony and view of Livigno. Not so good: Very dated rooms and bathrooms. Could not open the window just a little - had open the door to the balcony or nothing. Bad: Food. Breakfast: Juice - terrible, watery, especially if your'e not early. Scrambled eggs - watery. Jams - hard to squeeze out of containers, frequently so low that it was impossible to squeeze any. Coffee - all bad unless you order cappuccino. Not enough fresh fruit. Dinner: not quite soup kitchen style, but really not good. Elevator very small and SLOW!

The rooms are very dated and in desperate need of of decorating. Evening Meals have to be ordered in the morning and as a vegetarian I went Hungry. Every day I wrote on the menu That I was a vegetarian and ate No Fish or Eggs and they made me a TUNA SALAD Most evenings I had to make do with the salad Bar.. Not good when you have been skiing all day. One night they presented my Evening meal Of reheated chips from lunch and Tinned Vegetables. As someone from an Italian Back ground I am utterly DISGUSTED with the food this chef sent out to me considering an abundance of Italian food is naturally Vegetarian. A quick pasta dish isn't difficult to make....... I won't be returning here again. The rest of my party of 10 were utterly Shocked at my treatment and vowel no to return either The location of the Hotel is good pretty but we had to take a bus every day to the slopes

You think that going to Italy means style, good food and friendly people? You are completely wrong: hotel Pare is the place where we faced a hostile manager, dated furniture that sometimes broke under our normal weight, not working elevator, dated or broken utilities in the bathroom. About food? Horror. Pasta al dente? perhaps somewhere else. The lasagna, the Carbonara, Canelloni, were all too soft, as those made of fast food frozen meals. Same for gnocchi. Sauces, soups seemed to be prepared out of concentrates. The not consumed food from the day before seemed to be present in the next day salads or appetizers. The goulash soup had ginger taste and also contained paprika and zucchini, maybe those offered the previous day. The so-called American coffee had no taste at all, only color of coffee and the breakfast juice was available only one hour, while afterwards became more and more diluted. Although we claimed to the manager, nothing improved, and we had to leave a day earlier. As we dared to ask a compensation for our sufferings, the manager accused us of blackmail. Take care: all reviews and reported returning clients of 80% were due to the old management of the hotel, no longer present starting with 2018. On top of this, the hotel advertises 4 stars on walls of the rooms, on the hotel walls, while it was underrated to 3 stars and it offers 2 stars conditions actually. So, be careful, skiing is wonderful, hospitality may ruin your holiday!

We stayed here for a week of great skiing in Livigno, family of 4. This place got close to our hearts mainly thanks to the incredibly nice and friendly staff that truly did their outmost to make us feel like family. Thank you so much! The food is great, beds comfy and views amazing! We loved coming back to our ( steaming hot!) room after a day of skiing and indulge in the 4 course set menu. Actually only the antipasti buffet is enough to fill you up! Great little ski rental downstairs with good deals for real top notch racing skis. Again with wonderful, patient and smiling service 😊The place is charming and with lots of character and rough around the edges. Don't expect a posh place. Sometimes the elevator broke or the sink didn't work.. ah who cares?! For us it was the perfect stay and just the break we needed. We'll be back!

Dear Mrs.Zuzana, We are very sorry to read that your stay did not reflect your expectations! First of all I would like to underline that professional hoteliers do not look for excuses in front of problems that may arise unexpectedly during a stay and I consider myself to one of them ! Following regarding your feedback: our hotel represented on the web, reflects what the structure offers, the services of a 3 stars hotel Regarding the problems with your ski boots, we will try to solve it as the boot warmer is certainly not enough for all our guests during high season period Concerning our service that you think is slow, unfortunately I have to say that yoiur point of view surprises me a little , however, surely I will share this reflection with the staff to improve any shortcomings. But what really surprise me is the fact that you define the Hotelmanager as an arrogant person, in this case you are referring to me and I have to say that this does not correspond to the truth. However, I’m of the opinion that the Guests have always to explain exactly what really happened and not simply write ... "Manager arrogant" as you did.| In this case other travelers who read this review get a wrong idea about the Hotel. I’m sorry about this misunderstanding caused in a normal discussion and we thank you again for posting this review. We do hope you will have the chance to visit us again. Be well ! Kind regards Eugenio Mammarella General Manager

Two families, 9 all together, skiing in February. A very nice hotel with friendly staff and a very good service. Not to mention the food, that was very well prepared and really tasty. You may argue that the rooms are old, but the hotel was just so cosy and we had the best time. Our best recommendations!!

We stayed at Hotel Pare from 1 January 2017 to 11 January and were somewhat anxious as we had been staying at one of its sister hotels in the centre of the village for the past 7 years and did not know what to expect. Any doubt was soon gone, the hotel, although not centrally located and in need of a "softs" refurbishment, is comfortable, clean and very personal. The choices for breakfast and dinner were plentiful, the quality of food very good. What makes Hotel Pare stand out is the staff and the service. From the front desk to the kitchen, restaurant and housekeeping, the staff are without exception very friendly and eager to assist and please. Nothing is too much and any requests from us were attended to promptly and efficiently. The General Manager, Christiano, was present at all times and engaging with his guests. Its ski in/ski out location on the Mottolino side make it an ideal location for the more advanced skiers. Being involved in the hospitality industry, I found it refreshing to experience such good quality, personal and attentive service. Staying at Hotel Pare, you cannot go wrong. Peter Czakan

Stayed for only 3 nights and were very happy about the room og specially the friendly staff. We liked the ski rental in the cellar - very easy and combined with piste and the lift just beside the hotel makes it a very good choise for askiing holyday. Beware of that skiing back to the hotel is on a (easy) black piste. At lunch we could ask them to bring the food and drinks to us in the outdoor solarium (terasse) That was very nice. We have one complain though: The WiFi did not work for two days out of the 3 days we spent on Paré. When we asked the staff nobody seemed to know anything so they could not tell why or when it would bee running again. that was dissatisfactory.

We've been at Parè Hotel for a week and we found great service with very nice people, excellent cooking and clean rooms. Pool and sauna are perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing and the location is amazing. Directly on slopes and definitely recommended. If you're a beginning skier remember that the only way to reach the hotel is a black slope (or the chair lift).
