We (a family of 3, ages 44/45/12) spent a few lovely days here end of July 2024. The reviews we read ahead of the stay made us a bit uncertain, but this turned out to be totally unnecessary! The room was absolutely great, with a separate room for the preteen, wellworking aircon and a fantastic large balcony with sunbeds and a lovely view. The location was also great, with the sea and restaurants almost right outside the hotel. Breakfast was simple, but tasty, and all of the the staff was superfriendly! We especially have to point to Gerry from the reception, who went out of his way to help us and make our stay even better. For instance, when all of the hotel sunbeds outside the hotel were pre-booked, he found us a spot at the sundeck where we could put down our things safely and still have a swim and enjoy the water. Great service!
In retrospect, the only things we wish we knew beforehand is that the hotel sunbeds must be pre-booked in advance, and the same for the hotel garage.

Hotel was in a TOP Location,direkt on water front.The view from our balcony was fantastic to wake up to in the mornings. Parking is a bit of an issue but is ok. The reception staff are extremely friendly&very helpful. There are plenty of restaurants close by to have dinner at night👍 The breakfast buffet is ok but nothing special. Unfortunately there are renovations at this moment but we were lucky being there on a Saturday&Sunday so there wasn’t any work being done. The only negative to our stay was on the Saturday night there was an 18th birthday party in hotel&the young people stayed on the street outside the hotel till the early hours making much noise which was not good👎👎

Room location was good with a balcony overlooking the sea. Bathroom was very small! Room was small but adequate. TV did not work, but that was okay - we did not need to watch TV. Breakfast choice was limited. One morning the scrambled eggs were inedible!!

After reading the reviews, we were little nervous, if we booked the right hotel, but once we came, since first minute - everything, I mean literally everything was perfect. I guess, the sea view room makes the difference. We stayed a week and we loved every minute there, the spa was wonderful too (you can book a week in a spa for every day for under 500$), gel manicure was only 35$. We highly! reccomend it😍

My best friend from high school now lives in Lerici, and I visitied him in May. Because he and his wife have 2 small children, I was going to stay in a hotel in Lerici, and he suggested the Shelly. What a wonderful find!
First the potential problems with the hotel: it is difficult to get to Lerici from La Spezia (which is where the nearest train station is located). I am told that there is a bus from the station at La Spezia to Lerici, however I understand that it is not a direct trip, and instead it winds through La Spezia and Lerici before getting to the hotel (I never had to find out as my friend picked me up and dropped me off). Secondly the rooms are small (no smaller than for other places in Italy however).
These minor issues aside, the hotel is wonderful. It is clean (although the shower stall leaked in my bathroom leaving a fair amount of water on the bathroom floor), and the views from the balcony overlooking the bay is BEAUTIFUL. I was on the second floor and had a wonderful view. The staff was helpful, the breakfast above average compared with other experiences I had in Italy, and the location near the main "square" of Lerici was ideal. Air conditioning worked well, and there was an in-room safe, which allowed me to keep some things in my room rather than taking them with me during the day (e.g. passport etc.). Aside from the bathroom, the only other complaint I had is that a restaurant on the other side of the Bay has singers perform in the evenings. The singing from the speakers carries across the Bay, however I recall that they stopped singing around 11pm, but this will be an issue for any hotel overlooking the Bay, and nothing that some ear plugs didn't take care of.
I would have given the hotel 5-stars if the shower had not leaked, and if the rooms had been a bit bigger, and if it was easier to get to and from La Spezia by bus. That said if I am returning to Lerici in the future, I will be booking at the Hotel Shelly.

Typical Italian hotel, lots of marble and dark wood. We stayed in room 206, so 2nd of 5 accommodation floors, restaurant is 6th floor. And yes there;'s a lift. Being stone floors if there's guests above you then you're going to hear scraping chairs, though only out on the balconies I think. We were lucky in that only for one night was there a couple above us, though they made enough noise throughout the night for the whole week!! Outrageous as I lost my temper and swore at them, not being British that eh? Anyway, some facts. Room 206 was large and well equipped, kettle, hair dryer, tv, bath / shower etc etc. As a pointer room 6 on all floors are the largest. The sea view rooms are all on the road, which is busy though didn't stop my afternoon nap. In the evening it all quietens down, fantastic view across the harbour and out into the bay. Great falling asleep in the king size beds to the sound of waves breaking. Brekkie is typical Italian, and from the 6th floor a cracking vista, food is all excellent quantity and good range. Thank God no full English! Reception staff very helpful. Overall a great location and stay, only marred by the selfish muppet above us Saturday night 18th May.

The views over the bay are great. Breakfast on the top floor has fabulous views. Unfortunately, the mattress is lumpy and the pillows hard and uncomfortable. Clean and reasonably sized. Their private beach deck is very nice.

This hotel was my home for eight days and that is what it felt like - HOME. The hotel has a very accommodating staff. Beautiful view from our balcony. Breakfast is more than satisfactory. It is a good jumping off place for side trips to Cinque Terre, Tuscany, Carrara and other places. I highly recommend it.

Great location, just in front of the sea. A bit expensive for what it offers: rooms are a bit old and need some renovation and breakfast is poor though is served on a terrace with a fantastic view. The staff is very helpful

The hotel is clean and the staff is very nice. The rooms are great and our bathroom was huge with a tub but the reason to stay here is the location and view. You are a 2 minute walk from the main piazza with over 15 restaurants to choice from right on the waterfront - we chose to walk a bit into the back streets to find our restaurants.
