This is a very pleasant hotel. Staff were very friendly and reception desk staff were particularly helpful. The hotel is well located within a very short walk from the bottom of the main piste. The room we had was small but comfortable. The only point I did not like was that sound transfer from neighbouring rooms which was annoying. Food...

A well located hotel. A bit tired but with lots of upside. Nice service. Reasonable food. A great little pool area for a post skiing splash. Nice breakfast too. My car got stuck and the hotel sent a man down to pull me out. Now I'm rambling. Great value.

We stayed here as part of a Crystal Ski package holiday. We had two rooms (303 & 304) which were clean, spacious and very comfortable with superb views down the valley and across to Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn (303 had a balcony). The facilities at the hotel were very good with ski in and out access and plenty of...

An excellent choice for a low-key and relaxed family ski holiday. We went with another family, all children 10 and under. The staff were marvellous with them and didn't make them feel unwelcome in any way. Yes the walls are a bit thin, the wifi isn't great in the rooms and the decor a little tired, but the views are...

Have been coming to Aosta/Pila for several years now and have always been happy with a charming little hotel in the town. It is a bit of a trek from the beautiful town of Aosta to the top of the mountain though, so this year we decided to stay right on the slopes at the Lion Noir. The views from...

Our first visit to the hotel this year with a 3.5 year old and a 9 month old baby. We really enjoyed our stay there and the extra trouble the staff took to make us feel so welcome. The 3 course dinners were of great quality and hotel location was fab.

Have been to the Hotel 5 times, seems that its standard is slipping... Having reviewed this hotel before I praised it for its standards of cleanliness and food quality but this was somewhat lacking this year in that the quality of the food and choice was unimpressive.. As a party of 11 we opted for dinner at 20:00 and found...

We have now stayed four times at The Lion Noir and have enjoyed every one or our four visits. The staff are friendly, the food, service and rooms cannot be faulted. We have already booked for 2017. All you need to know is to look at the view from the Lion Noir - Mont Blanc / Monta Rosa / Matterhorn...

This is the third hotel we have stayed at in Pila (the others were Chalet des Alpes and Etoile De Neige) and we thought this was the best for the following reasons. 1) location: it is directly across from the gondola so very convenient for a trip to aosta, it is also very close to the Yeti restaurant for lunch...
