My husband and I had a lovely 2 night stay for his birthday mid September. Positives: Site and location: Its a romantic 1904 built hotel with an amazing terrace overlooking the lake Garda. We had a lovely dinner out under the stars with 5 star silver service from the head waiter Florin and his staff, who tended to our every need. Rooms: the bedroom was large with great bathroom facilities and air conditioning. Very quiet and comfortable. Food: Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The staff make a real effort to present everything beautifully and look after you so well. Birthday arrangemets:The hotel gave my husband a complimentary tiramisu and small bottle of prosecco on the terrace for his birthday breakfast. Swimming pool: small but very clean and lovely view of the lake. We had sun until 6pm in mid September. There is a small bar open to get drinks and snacks. Negatives: Rooms:We had room 43 ( at the top of the hotel) which says it has a balcony overlooking the lake with lake view- I had to lean over to see it and could see nothing sitting at the table provided. Very disappointing- I would not recommend this room number to pay premium for a lake view. I know there are better ones there. I was also shocked as there are NO fire exit signs in this room or on the top floor. When I complained to the concierge she said there are only one set of stairs down anyway!! NO SIGNS ANYWHERE. I was not happy...... Food: Great choice for breakfast except please improve the orange juice. I would expect freshly squeezed or something similar at a 5 star hotel. Electric chargers: We have a Tesla and both the chargers did not work for the whole weekend we were there. The concierge made arrangements with a different hotel where we could charge but only because I asked her to. We loved the hotel overall and have recommended to our friends to use but to choose a better lake view room than 43.…
Superb hotel with great views, lovely staff, excellent rooms. Breakfast was very good and we ate twice at the excellent hotel restaurant in the evening. Location is great, close enough to Gardone Sotto and Sopre to walk out in the evenings, plus an assortment of upmarket restaurants in hotels very near. Would recommend a car though - and ample free parking at the hotel. Great place.
Hotel is set high above the lake with stunning views. It is tranquil and calm. At first I thought a bit too quiet but soon settled into the hotels serene atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner served on the beautiful terrace by the wonderful waiting staff under the guidance of Florian. Maitre d'. The pool is lovely and most welcome after a hot day out and about. We had a lake view terrace room. View and terrace were fabulous. Room lovely but not huge. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly.
Beautiful place with amazing terrace and views overlooking the lake. Away from the busy road. Outstanding experienced waitstaff at the restaurant, both for dinner and breakfast. Very friendly receptionists as well. Excellent charges possibilities for EV. Only person that seemed less friendly was the cleaning lady.
My husband and I spent 5 days at the beautiful Villa del Sogno. everything about this place was special from our amazing junior suite room with awesome lakeside views and enormous stylish bathroom to the impeccable service received from the restaurant staff. Florin, Patrick, Angelo and their staff are second to none in the service they provide. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Each and every member of staff that we encountered were helpful and friendly. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It is indeed, in every way, 5 stars.
Cannot recommend this place well enough - the location on a hillside above Garda lake, very private and the hotel itself surrounded by a beautiful and well managed park. The building itself and its standard juts unique, lovely historical house renovated with respect of the original design. The housekeeping is top notch, the same goes for Everyone serving you at the restaurant and morning buffet. Everyone going the extra mile to feel you are taken good care of, always with a great sense of humor and Italian charm. That last thing being the very core of Del sognos soul.
Spent a week with my spouse, son and daughter in law. Setting was nice with lovely view on the lake Garda, lots of loungers although not the most comfortable. Staff very pleasant and polite. The main reason for only giving 3 stars to this review is the food for evening meal. One of us is a vegetarian and the choice was appalling. Limited menu with repeat in the space of a week, although we had booked half board we ended up going elsewhere for our evening meals, however, the breakfasts were excellent so my advice would be to book bed and breakfast as there are large numbers of very good restaurants close by.
Just returned from a long weekend at the Villa having stayed in the Tower Suite. This beautiful and historic building is in keeping with the location, peaceful and immaculately kept grounds and pool. All the staff their were very welcoming and attentive and you are made to feel very welcome. The views across the lake are breathtaking. This is a great hotel to relax at, its quiet and laid back, table service around the pool which is never crowded and just enough for to keep children entertained.
Over the decades, we have been privileged to stay in many fine hotels and visit most of Europe. A handful of hotels stand out as being extraordinary and this is one. Gardone is a lovely town and Villa del Sogno has an exceptional perch with a commanding view of the lake. The old mansion/hunting lodge motif may not appeal to everyone, But it is true to its origins, embodies low key luxury and an hour or more on their terrace should touch your soul. Yes, there are larger and perhaps grander hotels in town with more fashionable restaurants. But they mean larger groups, flashy cars and probably some attitude. This reminds me of an elegant Adirondack "camp" or old Newport. The staff here are genuinely welcoming, the dining is very good if not cutting edge and the real show is the nature around you. All is not perfect. We would have preferred better lighting and an exhaust fan in the bathroom. But the rainwater shower and towels were premium. A very comfortable bed, beautiful furniture in the rooms and public areas and distinctive paintings and statuary throughout add a distinctive feel. The breakfasts were very good, but they could upgrade their orange juice. The traffic on the main road through Gardone is ridiculous, even in late April/May. We can't imagine what it would be like in the summer. But we were happy to forget such nuisances and just savor being above the fray.…
First time here. Got off with a bad start (no restaurant table available on night of arrival), but that was amply remedied in the days after. Spacious room, rooftop terrace (!!), nice old-fashioned bar, and wonderful cuisine. Quite traditional but excellent.
