I've visited Garda a few times but always stayed in Verona due to the cost. However having come across Hotel Astoria on trip advisor I was chuffed when we arrived and realised how close the the lake we were. I could literally have thrown a stone in from the outdoor garden. Amazing.

Fantastic location. Right in the heart of Garda and literally a stone throw from the lake this is probably the best value room I've ever stayed in. Basic but beautiful. We walked to bardalino and back in the evening and it was amazing. Recommend!

We stayed here for a week and we're delighted with the hotel. The location is right on the lake, just a very short walk from the town centre. The rooms were clean, facing out to the side streets. There was a roof terrace, ideal to catch the sun during the day, but also ideal to sit on an evening with...

This Hotel was an upgrade choice on a tour which we selected and we were very pleased with it. It ticked all the right boxes for us as the food, hotel staff, location, etc were all great. We don't have any negative comments to make about our stay. We cannot comment on the facilities like the pool and spa as...

My wife and I stayed at the Astoria for 2 weeks in Aug/Sep. We were delighted with the hotel. The location is right on the lake and central for everything in Garda. The room was basic but fine with aircon, thankfully because it was very warm. The onsuite bathroom was also fine. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the towels...

Just spent a week at this hotel which is in a prime location on Garda lakeside. Had a nice room 130 with French doors where you could access a long narrow balcony with a small table and a couple of chairs overlooking a bustling pedestrianised lane. There is also a great roof terrace with beds, tables, chairs and umbrellas which...

This seems like it might not work, entrance up an alleyway, frogs all over the hotel but then..... We went for a week, the rooms are not grand but clean and tidy and who wants to stay in a hotel room for a holiday when abroad? The view from our room was not great but I have stayed in much...

What a change after H. Boston in Stresa! We did a guided tour of the Northern Italian lakes this summer. We stayed in Desenzano sul Garda (hotel Astoria) for 4 nights .It is a nice hotel ,situated on a quiet street very near the old city center, where there are a lot of nice restaurants and shops. Nearby there is also a...

just visited garda, stayed here. I had read all the reviews so had an idea of what the hotel would be like. hotel well situated for garda town, seems to be fairly central for the small area, basic but clean but the beds were so uncomfortable that sleep was a real problem, plus the lack of a fridge caused issues,...

This hotel is a little gem, the rooms are basic but clean, the location is perfect on the promenade overlooking the lake, the staff are pleasant and helpfull, we chose half board basis, the breakfast was buffet with plenty of choice, evening meal a la carte with again a good choice and a good standard, we will definitely stay again,
