Detailed Reviews
We usually stay at a different hotel but it was booked so we chose Il negresco due to its location.
The rooms r tiny and no soundproofing, but that's a standard in forte dei Marmi.
Overall not a bad breakfast, though restaurant staff could have been nicer and more welcoming. They looked as if they were unhappy and extremely tired of work and hate their jobs.
The rest of the staff, receptionists and bartender are the best, they were very kind and helped us a lot. They booked us restaurants for dinner, advised us on bagno, and arranged a pcr test. The bartender guy does the best Bellini, better then in Gilda :) housekeeping was very good!
The pool seemed cold, but jacuzzi was great for our boy.

Really nice small hotel with super clean room and excellent service and staff. Swimming pool and super close to the beach and bagnini. Good breakfast a la carte because of Health situation but really fresh and good. Free transport to the city center or 15 min walk 👍

Expect the best from the warmest group of people at Il Negresco. Roberto, Filipo and Lucca are very sweet, accommodating and helpful. They will make your trip fun and relaxing. Fabio is the best mixologist around. His drinks are superb. We will definitely be coming back.

e found Negresco to be quite a charming place so why just 2 stars. ITs all about expectations vs spend. The hotel fees were very high (similar to the 4 seasons hotel) and so we were expecting 4 seasons service and accommodations. Our hosts were nice but my first surprise was that when i came in they told me i must find street parking because they ran out of parking spots. This is something that can be expected from a 2 star hotel but when spending this much- as a welcome is completely unacceptable. Also they never asked me if I wanted to reserve a spot when I made the hotel reservation. I was in constant contact with the hotel about reservations etc and never once did they mention the parking to me. Even motels offer parking
Also I got yelled at by the staff in front of other guests that evening because we left our room service outside of my room. Typically room service is left outside the door in a hotel so I wasn’t sure what I did wrong. not only were we embarrassed, we were shocked.
Another issue i had was no internet access. It was worse then my flight internet. When I complained i was told in a very cold manner. Its not us- must be to much use..
This to me is again unacceptable. It is not my problem that you have not set up your internet properly. There was no attempt to rectify the problem at all.
The location of the property was also very noisy as you can hear a lot of cars etc outside at night. The rooms itself were old and outdated and the AC hard to use.

Great location, first line to the sea. Attentive and kind personnel. Good breakfast. Small rooms but that is an old hotel and it is Italy, not surprising or too disappointing. Beautiful tables outside for lunch and dinner. Parking behind. Bikes are available for rent. The pool and jacuzzi were good, my little boy enjoyed it. I think it a very convenient, classy hotel. 15 minutes walk to the center of Forte. Great Hotel!

Forte is a classic upscale resort for Europeans seeking a restful stay. This hotel is located outside of the town center and is a nice walk into town. We visited in the off season and enjoyed a pleasant two night stay. The hotel staff were friendly. The hotel also provides a nice breakfast. We definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel in a good location: on the sea line (street to cross), good facilities. A bit expensive but that is due to be in one of the most famous sea resorts in Italy.

Hotel staff are thieves. I booked through Expedia, a sea view room for 2 adults and a child.
Dealt with Lara on front desk- extremely rude and conniving-complete and utter liar.
Turned up to be told that they didn’t have any sea view rooms to accommodate our family, that the booking from Expedia states 2 adults only. I showed the booking confirmation by email stating 2 adults and a child and also the screen shot I took at the time of booking. She was very condescending, speaking in a slow voice, showing me her paperwork from Expedia that had only 2 adults.
Lara advised that as we had prepaid we would not be able to be refunded.
We were told that we could have room 101, a triple room, not sea view, that there would not be a supplement due to the room being not a sea view but it was a triple.
We felt hard done by- this was a worse room than what we had paid for. I immediately sent an email to Expedia and am still waiting to hear back.
Room turned out to be for a disabled person, there was no bath (as stated on my screen shot). Lara told us we could move up to 301 the following day so that we could have a partial sea view and a bath.
Lara did not advise nor did we agree on any further charges. In fact we had planned to ask for a partial refund in return to England, through Expedia.
On exit, Lara forced us to pay an extra €50 per night- if we refused, she said she would call the police.
Breakfast was rubbish.
Cocktails- we tried the Moscow mule- so disgusting we could drink it and expensive at €12 each
Bathrooms - so small and old fashioned, very difficult to bathe or shower.
The concierge was lovely and gave us good restaurant recommendations.

Response from SimoPell, Direttore at Hotel Il Negresco
Responded 18 Jul 2018
Dear Client, we were expecting this review, after the threats yesterday upon your check-out, when you tried not to pay the extra charge for the extra person (your 9 years old child). Unfortunately, contrary to what you claimed, the mistake on the reservation was not due to Expedia system or to a bad managing of your booking by the hotel, simply you booked a double room for 2 adults leaving aside the detail of a 9 years old child. Upon your arrival, discovering the presence of the 3rd. person we did our best to accomodate you and your family in the best way, considering that in peak season the hotel is always almost fully booked, so it is not so easy to find solution. You have been perfectly informed that you had to different solutions available: the first one was room 101 on first floor - no sea view - bathroom equipped also for disabled (very sad that this was a kind of disadvantage for you ) that you could have for the three nights with no extra charge for the extra person OR move the next day to a triple room (third floor) with sea view and in this case with an extra charge of € 50,00 per night for the 3rd. person, and you agreed for this second solution. At the departure you tried not to pay what we had agreed before, so you tried first to say that the mistake had been made by expedia and when expedia provided all the necessary to prove that there was not mistake of the system, you threated the hotel with a possible bad review if we were not ready to deduce the extra charge. You can trust me when I say that € 100 are not going to change the economic budget of the hotel but we want just to be fair: when we make a mistake we are always more than ready to indemnify our Guest, but we are going to submit to threats of bad reviews . We also want to respect all the other Guests that make their reservations properly and simply pay for all the people booked and staying in the hotel, as it normally should be. By Taxi. We have just returned from this hotel on Monday after a week's holiday. The area is very expensive so you will need lots of spending money for evening meals, drinks and beach fees if you use the beach club.
They have for sure gluten free options for breakfast from what I recall - as well as lactose free and vegan options, if I am not mistaken.
I would suggest to let them know beforehand just so they can be ready for it, they are extremely nice and highly professional
Hi we were there last September and there is parking available and a very nice breakfast was included. Very nice hotel, highly recommend it.
