Centrally located Hotel Mediterraneo in the beautiful Sicilian city of Cefalù with an easy walk to the beach or to old town with its amazing historical sites and Cathedral. We spent a day at the beach and another day walking the old town with guide extraordinaire Salvatore Mendola from Sicily Choice who is a local resident and full of the history and lore of Cefalù and so rightfully proud of this beautiful city. We plan to return one day soon to spend more time in this enchanting city by the sea, the rooms at the hotel were comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful, and an amazing breakfast, the best we had during our two weeks in Sicily!

We came backpacking to Cefalu on the train from Palermo and did not book any accommodation in advance. We came across this hotel which is very close to the railway station. The young lady at reception was brilliant and called her manager to arrange for us a room with a balcony at a discounted price (without breakfast). The room (111) was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the balcony looked down on a local workshop with a view of the sea to the right. The room has a mini-bar and Sky TV with a wide variety of channels. The location is ideal as it is just across the road from the train station and 5 minutes walk from the beach front. There is also a Spa supermarket close by. The only reason I am not giving the hotel 5 stars is for two reasons. One, We could not charge our electrical items in the sockets next to bed as out adapter plugs would not fit in them and instead had to use the hair-dryer socket above the sink in the bathroom which we were a little concerned with. The other reason is the noise from the street outside which can start at 05:30 am but strictly speaking this is not really the fault of the hotel. A big shout out to all the staff who were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.

I think this hotel is decent for the price. The area is super expensive so this was reasonable. I would say the staff is definitely the best part. Do NOT go to the restaraunt they provide a discount for. I’m disappointed they even affiliate themselves with the restaurant. It was awful. But otherwise, the rooms were pretty nice and the location is great if you are coming from or leaving by train. The room had a faint smell of cigarettes but the room itself was very clean.

I stayed here for 2 nights in April 2018 and am glad to have done so. I found the location near to the train station to be handy. The staff are lovely people and speak several languages. My room had a nice bathroom and I found the breakfast to be just perfect. I'd suggest this is not ideal for older people though as there are steep stairs.

The hotel is very old and the bathroom is horrendous. But the price of the room is cheap and location is very good. Pros: location, mostly friendly staff, spacious room Cons: hotel parking is impossible to find in GPS, breakfast is limited, bathroom is really horrible (plasticky and not that clean)

This hotel is bargain priced for the area.It is close to the beach and Cefalu center-however it is difficult to find-It is located on the first floor of an apartment building-to get to the lobby you must go down about 20 steps-as the road slopes in back-the signage for the hotel is very small and easy to miss-There is an elevator that will bring you down to ground level where there is free parking-Reception was very cordial and helpful=The hotel is in need of updating-Breakfast is 5Euro extra

Hi we're staying at this hotel right now it is very nice and clean, staff helpful and friendly. About 10 mins walk to the lovely sandy beach and to the main centre. Lots of shops, cafe, restaurants and supermarkets near by. There are some lovely spots in the centre where you can get picturesque views. Location is ideal as it's behind a busy main road so sitting on the balcony is nice and tranquil.

Hotel Mediterranean Ceifilu, Sicily. We stayed in this lovely hotel for one week. For anybody using the train to get around Sicily, it is the perfect hotel. When you come out of the train station, turn left, walk 75 meters and it is across the road. All reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All could speak English. Reception area is nice and our room was spot on. Everything clean and comfortable. The bed was luxurious. Bathroom excellent. Wifi worked very well. You are about a 10 minute walk from the old town. Where the hotel is would not be as quaint as the city centre, but it is grand. Air conditioning was very good. Breakfast is adequate, maybe a bit more variety would make it more enticing. The waitress was kind and worked hard.....we felt that she could have done with more help. Overall this was a nice experience. We would stay in this hotel again.

We spent one night in Hotel Mediterraneo and cannot stress enough the friendliness of the staff. The receptionist Giovanna is absolutely fantastic! Super friendly, speaking perfect English and extremely helpful when I was dealing with the issue of trying to coordinate reclaiming my passport lost at the previous accommodation. The hotel is generally great value, offers free parking and is located close to the town centre. The breakfast is simple with some nice cakes and fruits. Overall a very enjoyable stay and highly recommended!

We stayed in Cefalu for 2 nights on Easter weekend. The Mediterraneo was a well located hotel with free parking in the back. We could walk to the beach and to center of town in 5 minutes. The staff were helpful and the free breakfast was good. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. It is an older hotel and it is basic. The bathroom was small but functional. I would definitely recommend this hotel for it's location alone. If you are driving you don't want to be dealing with the older part of town and parking.
