La Buca Del Gatto provided us with a very memorable stay whilst we rode our bicycles in Tuscany. The staff are very friendly, dedicated and helpful. The hotels facilities are perfect and it offers everything. The buffet meals are very tasty and there is plenty of variety to choose from. We really enjoyed our stay at La Buca, so Thankyou very much!
A wonderful place.I was there ,this New Year's holidays .Even if the resort was full of people ,they paid a lot of attention to us,starting from the very comfortable room up to SPA that we were totally relaxed. Food was very delicious and the staff there waa very gentile, kind and in our disposition. Tge New Year' s party was very good ,with live music where all people were happy ,enjoyng the time dancing with each other .The resort was in a very beautiful place near the sea and we visited even Bolgheri and Castagneto where wine is produced .In general Toscana is a very wonderful place .I enjoyed the most my holidays in Italy .It was an unforgettable experience.
I found this hotel in a promotion of Neckermann, We will never regret it and we will sure go back. From this hotel you can visit Firenze ,Pisa ,Siena, Volterra, Elba Island and other tuscany archipel islands, you can take the boat from the little town of Sanvincenzo and go even to Corsica for one day excursion, You can also visit the Etruscan Ruines and museums and a lot of small villages lost in the hills surrounded by winegard and olives. You can drink a coffee or a cappuccino on a nice terrace for a very low price about 1 eur. Or eat an italian Icecream a big cup 3 flavours for 2 eur. The people are very friendly and if you speak Italian you can talk to them while you seat on a bench in the shadows of old Oaks trees and learn more about the place. The hotel is fantastic ,500 meter from the beach , nice and large rooms with terrace or large balcony , the gardens are well kept and fantastic swimming pool, for the sportifs people they have a fitness center, tennis courts inside and outside, basketball and minifootball fields, you can rent bikes and they have also a wellness center with openair Jacuzzi Food and drinks are fantastic and generous buffet breakfast cold Lunch and dinner buffet cold and warm with a large selection of dishes, fish meat and of course Pastas and soups. Wine a good bottle for 9.eur and house wine in carafe even cheaper, a bottle of water 2 euros and in the morning you can have coffee espresso or cappuccino free of charge during the breakfast. The bar at the pool serves also all sorts of drinks at very reasonabvle prices The manager is " a walking around manager " and you can ask him anything, his answer? NO Problems!!! we will do it straight away; His staff at all departments even if they are young, very friendly and efficient. To conclude it is really a nice place to spend holidays as couple or as family with children they have a special area for the children to play sometimes twice a week in the evening there is live music or show for old andyoung.…
We have stayed at Buca del gatto for one week. This small resort is simple but practical. The structured looks like a bit dated, but altogether clean and well kept. We stayed in a room located in the renovated wing (Eucaliptus, also connected with the spa area) and have been happy with it. It was roomy and it had a small terrace. It was great with the children (one extra bed and crib fit nicely in it leaving room for moving and playing). Also the small fridge was useful. There are two swimming pools (one indoor and one outdoor) and a smaller one for children. They were ok, but we had the feeling there was nobody overviewing them. The beach (definitely not the best I visited in Italy) is maybe 1km away but still reachable on foot (our 3 years old son also made it without too much fuzzing). Half way is a bit scary as basically there is not sidewalk. Not too much traffic, but with children you never know...The second half it was a nice way throughout the pinewood. Staff is generally kind, flexible and helpful. However the worst experience we had in this place concerns the staff. We did not like the rambling speech of one of the staff members. It was basically some no sense complain (= racist talking) against foreigners. The person was so full of anger against foreigner tourists (and of course it did not get that we were actually not italians) that if this would have happened on the first day I would have left immediately not feeling safe for my children. When I tried to make the point at the reception asking to speak with someone in response of the structure, the guy there tried to have me believe the whole structure was on his lonely shoulder and not manager or any other responsible person would be available for the whole morning. And this on the day of arrivals!!!! I even asked to be contacted by the manager concerning this episode but never heard from them...…
We had an 8 days stay with half board. When we arrived, we were very disappointed. The shower were broken, it smelled from the sink, wi-fi did not work and the dinner and breakfast buffet were below average. Not enough food and not great italian food like we know it. Tennis courts fully booked when we arrived but we managed to play anyway. The beach is small and crowded. Nobody besides a few in the reception speaks english or german. Mainly Italian guests. not worth the money and we will not be coming back.
