Stars are a useless way of tracking hotels but in this case the quite modest La Pace proved to be welcoming and hospitable and, to our surprise (I should have checked Trip Advisor reviews!), the hub of quite a historical focus based on events in 1944. I grew up on a diet of stories about the New Zealanders and their...

This hotel had everything good for it. It is situated perfectly in Cassino as it is possible to walk around the city. It has good and cheap breakfast, a decent room, but more importantly, people who care. I enjoyed several talks with Pino and the staff as they were all very welcoming. I learned a lot about the region and...

I took my grandfather aged 93 a veteran of the free French who fought in '44 alongside the Americans. He lived but so many others died. He was treated like a celebrity by owner Pino Valente and made to feel the hero he is but never wished to be. The hotel is dated but comfortable and warm Pino went out...

The hotel is definitely recommended also the location was great to go on the battlefield tours. The facilities were superb & hospitability of Pino and his staff. The knowledge prior to the tour and throughout was amazing. You can definitely relax after a hard day out sightseeing. The hotel was perfectly positioned for my father and I to explore the local area near the abbey and the surroundings. Cassino made up part of our trip around Italy to following in the footsteps of my grandfather in World War II. Unexpected view of the abbey in the distance from our balcony which was really special and very memorable....

My brother Roland and I came to Cassino researching our Polish father's wartime experiences. As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Maria at reception. There are actually two Marias and both were always friendly and willing to assist us throughout our stay. Pino, was an exceptional host who generously shared his time and local historical knowledge with...

Visited for 3rd time. Very clean rooms. Great view of Montecassino. Free parking at the back. Receptionist very kind, friendly and helpful. The price justify the service. Did not choose breakfast, because of the look at what was offered on the table. Overall very satisfied

What a find! Very welcoming staff made a plus by the owner's personal interest in the local history. We had a wonderful half day tour with Pino who took us to sites we would never have found on our own and tailored to our family research. Maria on reception couldn't have been more friendly and professional even helping me source...

Pino, the hotel owner provided a wealth of information and memorabilia about the WWII battle at Montecassino. If you are a WWII history buff he will add to your knowledge of the town and its involvement in the Battle of Montecassino. The hotel served, for a nominal fee, a typical Italian breakfast of sweets and savories which were very good....
