We spent a week at this hotel. The staff was extremely kind, professional and helpful, and in particular the front desk. Charming location, excellent food and very clean rooms. Magnificent sea and and very forthcoming beach staff. We highly recommend this Hotel Antares for both families and couples. We will be back.

The 3 star rating for this hotel certainly doesn't give it the credit it deserves. The hotel is situated at the end of the bay surrounded by beautiful gardens with steps leading down to its own private beach. Sun umbrellas and loungers are reserved for hotel guests and the beach is kept clean by friendly Marco and his assistant. The room and bathroom were kept clean and comfortable. The air conditioner efficient and very quiet. We had breakfast and dinner on the terrace where you get a fantastic view of the bay. The food was excellent and I would recommend you take half board. You won't regret it. On the main courses you have a choice of fish, meat or vegetarian which you choose at breakfast. One evening they went to lots of trouble and set up a grill on the terrace which was incredible. You just didn't know where to start as there was so much choice and it was delicious. There was also a desert buffet which was a dream. The wine card offers a good choice of wines from various areas at reasonable prices. The barman is always willing to help you in your choice and recommended us a few good drops. Sig. Mauro and his team work hand in hand, always smiling and very friendly. I can highly recommend this hotel if you plan to visit Elba.

This 3 star hotel surprises on every level . Good parking on arrival and a golf cart to bring you to reception with your luggage . A very nice touch . Great welcome and check in . Front desk very friendly and helpful . The location overlooks a stunning beach with beautiful clear blue green ocean , warm and calm for swimming and water sports . The hotel beach club is old school glamorous . The hotel rooms are smart , nicely decorated with in room fridge and a funky balcony which is nice in the evening for a sundowner . The food is outstanding , well presented and great value . A superb , attentive restaurant manager and well drilled staff . When we stayed there was a mix of couples , families with children and everyone got great attention . This is the kind of hotel that you would return to every year . Great for all generations .

We spent a delightful week at Hotel Antares and can’t fault it. The position overlooking Lido beach is superb and all meals were taken on the outdoor terrace. All staff, without exception, were professional, helpful and friendly. We were always warmly greeted with a smile. The hotel is immaculate and well tended with lovely outdoor areas and swimming pool. The provision of free sunbeds, tennis court and children’s club makes it an ideal hotel for families. We were the only English couple at the hotel as it mainly caters for German and Italian visitors as does the rest of the island. We stayed on half board basis and meals were very good with excellent service from all the waiters. We didn’t hire a car as we’ve previously visited Elba and we’re keen walkers but the position of the hotel and Lido is off the beaten track. The hill town of Capoliveri is a 2 mile walk mainly along fragrant paths and lanes full of wild flowers with some road walking at the end and Porto Azzurro is a similar distance along back lanes with a final hill walk to avoid the busy main road. Both towns are delightful with shops, restaurants etc. A short walk in the other direction led us down to the small beach at Felciaio which has a small man made harbour with a sandy beach - perfect for swimming. Lido beach is part sand, part shingle with a few beach bars and eateries. It was quiet in early June but I imagine fairly busy into summer. We will certainly return to Hotel Antares if we visit Elba again.

Overlooking Capoliveri bay, amazing view, private beach and direct acces to the beautiful sea. Ideal for families with young kids and for couples looking for a super relaxing holiday. Great food at the hotel restaurant, recommended the lunch buffet. Staff people are super kind (Tommaso the owner, Marco, Irene, Cinzia, the restaurant maitre) always suggesting and giving best tips to enjoy the natural beauty of Elba island and local restaurants or amenities around. Rooms are good enough preferring the old island typical style to a more modern and luxurious style. Strongly recommended to anybody looking for natural beauty and well being! Hope to come back soon!
