We chose this place because of its wellness center, but were quite surprised when we discovered all slots were reserved by outside clients! Had we known ahead of time, we would have gone elsewhere as the hotel itself is correct but not impressive, and is located in an ordinary residential area outside town. Our terrace turned out to be a « tropezienne » (blind attic space without a roof and without a view). Our superior room, although spacious, was cold, anonymous and quirky ( on both sides of the headboard, there are switches for lamps but also for a bell that rings loudly in the bedroom. Better not to make a mistake in the middle of the night ... ) However, bedding was firm and comfortable. Breakfast (not sanitary enough as it was a self serve buffet), was nonetheless quite diversified, tasty and we enjoyed having it outside. Day staff was very pleasant, especially Marica, a young lady with great courtesy and professionnalism. All in all, this place is correct but not cozy nor warm. It seems more interested in private events, such as weddings, parties, conferences, than in regular clients. Be aware that such events might ruin the « peaceful » environnment, and that access to the wellness center is not granted. Make sure to reserve it way ahead of time as it seems to be very popular in town. We did not have a single chance to enjoy the pool, the spa, nor the massages!…
An unexpected nine night stay at this fabulous hotel as our car broke down and this hotel was nearest the garage. A magnificent setting and very comfortable room. The service from every member of the staff was exceptional. The delicious breakfast was served from the buffet due to covid restrictions, but there was a good variety. We were able to use the pool in the resort spa and eat in the restaurant, where again the service and food was superb. This hotel is sometimes used for weddings and events but the staff do there best to minimise the impact. There is a lovely forest behind the hotel with a nature trail and nearby bus stops with easy access into the beautiful city. Thankyou to everyone at Il santellone we certainly hope we can visit again.
The hotel is very good located little outside Brescia with private parking and spacious rooms. Breakfast is nice and dining is remarkable good! Also for a business lunch it is recommended! The quiet atmosphere and the wide garden so close to the highway and the city is dry good. We come back again.
Very relaxing and beautiful environment. Wonderful loggias and outdoor pool area. Luxurious hotel breakfast with many local specialities. Large and fresh rooms and baths. Modern and consequent interor in a historic setting. Very friendly and helpful staff. Large free and safe parking. Perfect location for trips to Brescia, Bergamo, Garda, Iseo, Franciacorta wineries and Milan
I don't know how many times I have to repeat in my reviews that the most important parts of a hotel stay are pretty much when the guest arrives, and when they leave. A bad experience at departure tarnishes even the best stay. In truth, this is a nice hotel - but although we got a weird email from the hotel the day before we arrived, they didn't bother to tell us (1) that it would be a good idea to book dinner [by the time we arrived they were full] and (2) that there would be a charge for using the swimming pool even though it is featured in the publicity photos and no extra charge is mentioned in the listing. So when we left and we were charged EUR 100 extra for swimming twice in the pool, I was (justifiably) angry. Adding insult to injury it took about half an hour to check out. My advice: if you're going to stay, make sure you check on the extras because that was like 50% of the cost of the entire stay for us, as an unexpected "bonus". These sorts of charges are despicable.…
This hotel was fantastic for our weekend bachelorette party in Brescia. The staff could not have been more helpful! We had a very long delay before arriving and the hotel restaurant was closed so they allowed us to get a take away providing all plates and cutlery and a seating area. They helped us to book alternative restaurants and communicate with the taxi companies going above and beyond expectations to ensure our group of 12 had everything we needed. Amazing customer service. Our only complaint would be regarding the pool which is run by another company who own the restaurant. The pool was lovely but is often closed for private events which go on quite late with loud music though having noted a previous review we had contacted the hotel and found out in advance that the pool and restaurant would be closed for one day of our 3. The day we arranged to be at the pool was slightly marred by another man who was very unpleasant and argumentative throughout coming over and stating a lot of rules he felt we should be following (having among his own group smashed a glass, some of which landed in the pool and was never retrieved). He was rather aggressive and kept telling us we shouldn’t be there if we didn’t speak Italian. He insisted on checking whenever we had a drink that we were using plastic glasses and generally patrolling the pool making unpleasant comments and shouting. We tried to ask him what it was he wanted to stop and happily deflated a beach ball he objected to but this had little effect on his persistent interruptions. Upon complaining to the hotel they thought he might be the pool manager however when they described the man and came to see who we were complaining about he said he was not a staff member. The pool was closed early by the staff who were equally frustrated at the man barking orders to them about whether they should serve us or let us use their facilities. This made our experience in the pool rather frustrating however when we spent our last day there we had no problems at all and the staff where really pleasant. Overall I would recommend the hotel with reservations about the pool and restaurant which I would advise to check availability in advance to ensure the facilities are available.…
If you want a relaxing place along with luxury this is the right place. Beautiful Spa with swimming pool (out side and inside) and top restaurant make this lace ideal for business or just vacation. Excellent service !
A very good resort hotel to stay if you want to be in Brescia, which is well placed between various activities in this part of Italy. The place is good, nice rooms, garden and swimming pool good. Restaurant and breakfast ok too. Very friendly staff. Be careful, there are many events here that interfere with use of garden and swimming pool!
A great place for relaxation and enjoyment of the hotel exterior! Getting from Malpensa airport is better on a rented car. It will be more profitable than to take a taxi. The distance is about 130 kilometers. Travel by toll road will take about 1.5 hours. Parking in the hotel is free of charge. Breakfasts are purely Italian. This is absolutely not a buffet. Someone who likes to eat breakfast is not very comfortable. Bread, eggs, tomatoes, mozzarella, coffee - perhaps, everything. The staff is very polite and works great.
our room (junior suite) was large, although due to the building architecture, a bit dark. however the buildings with the rooms are beautiful, basically fully renovated farm houses. unfortunately the restaurant was closed on sunday (the website of the restaurant stated monday as the day for being closed), but the town of Brescia offers many very good opportunities for dinner.
