Perfect base for exploring the epic cycling adventures in and around Bormio. Great rooms, locked bike garage, workshop, kit washed over night, advice on routes, super breakfast, daily snacks provided, and super evening meal and wine. What more could you ask for? Owners and staff who speak to you! - find out what you want to achieve and give you great tips/ advice/guiding. Grazie mille to Daniele and the team.
My family and I stayed at Hotel Funivia for 3 nights in August. As well as being set in a lovely town, close to cycling and hiking trails, the hotel itself was so attentive and accommodating. My husband and son have dietary requirements (one vegan and one vegetarian). I emailed the hotel ahead of our arrival and they could not have been more helpful. We were so appreciative of the efforts they went to, ensuring breakfast and evening meals had options for everyone. As well as having great facilities for cyclists, lovely rooms and great location, the attention to detail and care they showed in looking after their guests really sets this hotel apart.
Absolutely brilliant! Great, friendly staff and every detail covered. We had the bike rate deal which gave us cctv covered secure storage, mechanic area with tools and consumables, overnight laundry service and post-ride snacks in the bar. It was all spot on. Clean, comfortable rooms, great buffet breakfast and superb 5 course dinner in the Restaurant (r this was extra, but great vfm) Stelvio man was on hand am and pm for Route advice and help with anything cycling. He even drove one of our party to a local bike shop to buy replacement tyres. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Special thanks to Anna who made booking, transfers and staying a breeze. Grazie
I returned here after the borders opened in Australia and I was allowed to travel. This family run hotel exceeded expectations with their friendly service and excellent staff. In the heart if the Italian Alps it is surrounded by mountains. It is a paradise for hikers and cyclists. In the winter it would be magnificent for skiing. Highly recommended
To have a good friend running a truly cycling friendly hotel here in Bormio, the classic spot for a enthusiastic cyclist, is the BEST thing Awesome food that you doubt every evening if you're sitting inside a Michelin Star restaurant with delicious, healthy but full of "energies" dishes for your next day's cycling challenges Complete set of Bicycle maintenance tools, a well secured bike-only garage, and bike spa tools for all guests to make sure your next cycling attempt would have no worries (I cleaned and lubed the drive system of my Defy "everyday" after my rides) Be sure to bring your favorite cycling jerseys here for your challenges, they cover your everyday jersey cleaning inside your cyclist stay package with low temperature laundty😍😍😍, put them into each floor's laundry basket before 18:00, get them ready to go next morning after 07:00! No more tiresome self handwash in hotel bathroom everyday! Most important of all, you have a hotel host here loving cycling so much and even being called "Stelvioman" for his hundreds of times Passo Dello Stelvio attempts as it's like his backyard and he's deeply in love of cycling, you may also frequently meet many pro riders passing here to have a cup of coffee during their training days 😍 He's a perfect local guide with detailed cycling Maps in his mind, every day I discussed with him the next day's route upon his suggestions and tips, make every ride a pleasant one even I go by myself to new routes "ONLY WHEN YOU ARE ONE OF YOUR TARGETED CUSTOMERS COULD YOU PROVIDE THESE SERVICES SO WELL" Grazie mille, Daniele, the @stelvioman2758 , great stay at Hotel Funivia, thanks for the hosting, mate! #RideLife #CADEX #CADEXCycling #CADEX36Disc #hotelfuniviabormio #Stelvioman #cycling #cyclingholiday #cyclingholidays #cyclingporn #bormio #passogavia #passostelvio #passomortirolo #lagodicancano #bormio2000 #eita #bikefriendly #bicycle #cycling #italy…
We stayed here an extra night during our 2020 Alps motorbike tour, primarily due to the warm welcome and overall friendliness of all the staff we came across - be that at reception / the bar / breakfast. Of course it helps that the hotel is in a great location with a sun terrace backing onto the fields / pistes behind, a private car park next door, a wonderfully light and airy breakfast room, clean and tasteful rooms, and that it’s a short walk into the old town, but overall the friendliness of the staff was the icing on the cake. Great hotel, would love to stay again.
Hotel Funivia is superbly located a short walk from town, but right next to the hill side. The staff were welcoming, attentive and kind from start to finish. As a cyclist the bike room, packed lunch, daily laundry, and meals made the trip so easy and enjoyable. The hotel provides a base for a stress free cycling trip right next to some unbelievable routes. There was great guidance on routes and climbs. As well as a help with finding the local bike shop Spot On Bike’s which can help with any cycling needs. Breakfast and dinner were great. You definitely won’t go hungry! Diverse menu with local specialities. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. I really recommend this hotel. It’s a superb place to stay whilst visiting this incredible place.
Thank you for such a wonderful stay. Myself and Tim had a cracking 4 days riding from Bormio and with the hospitality and friendliness of all the staff who work in the hotel, things could not have been made any better. You are all part of a fantastic team and I’m already looking forward to coming back in a couple of years time. A quick thank you to Dave for all his advice and for giving up his morning along with Daniele to escort us to the start of the toughest climb I have ever had the pleasure to ride (The Mortirolo)😳. If you are looking for a base to cycle the iconic climbs around Bormio, I don’t think you will find a better hotel.
Absolutely the perfect place to base yourself for a cycling tour of the area. At the foot of so many great climbs.... Stelvio, Gavia, Mortirolo etc etc. Hotel is just great. Amazing bike facilities, workshop, super secure storage, cleaning facilities... they even wash your kit and bring it back the next day! Rooms are lovely and a stones throw from Bormio town in a nice quiet spot. Staff are all very lovely and helpful and didn’t mind my poor Italian! Thoroughly recommended.
I've done quite a few bike holidays in Europe and our stay at the Funivia in Bormio stood out because of how well they cater to the needs of cyclists. Family run hotel that thinks of everything to make your stay a memorable one. Truly excellent bike guides, healthy delicious meals, daily laundry service and a world class bike room with tools and equipment. The owner Daniele is a serious cyclist himself so he understands what your needs are and is a constant presence ensuring that the little things get taken care of. Its also super convenient that the excellent Stelvio Experience tours also start at this hotel daily at 9 am.
