By far, Villa Athena was the highlight of our 3 week Sicily vacation. Accommodations were most perfect and staff above perfection! Most special was spending our evening dinners outside on veranda, fantastic food and service, grand piano music, and best of all, the view of Concordia Greek Temple, lit up in the most beautiful warm golden color, standing right in... One of the most amazing views from a hotel property you will ever find. I am sure this property and the view has been featured many times in travel magazines. Being a veteran Italian traveler I thought let's do Sicily. I am a somewhat seat of the pants traveler and invariably will only make a few reservations to leave lots... More

We stayed at the Villa Athena many years ago. the view was spectacular. My husband had a tummy bug and missed the dinner on the terrace. We had to return! This time, the Hotel surpassed expectations! It has been cleverly and tastefully renovated! The location is the best in Agrigento, nestled below the Temples. The pool area is just gorgeous,... More

The primary (if not the only) reason one would go to Agrigento is to see the Temple of Concordia. So why stay at a hotel that doesn't offer perfect views of it from various perspectives. From the outdoor dining terrace, it looms boldly and directly in front of you. From the swimming pool and the courtyard, it is always present.... More

This is the easiest review I will ever do. To get right to point, the Athena is the only place to stay in Agrigento. Location is on the edge of the Valle Dei Templi. The view of the Tempio Della Concordia enchants. We enjoyed a bottle of wine just staring at the Temple. It's like watching a fire. Rating is... More

My wife and I started here with our baby son Aiden and what a great little hotel it is. From the welcome, to the staff, to the room to the terrace, pool, the views, etc ... etc.... 5 stars in every sense of the term.

Perhaps it was the GPS issues or the lateness of the day, but our arrival and greeting by the receptive staff at Villa Athena lifted our spirits. Those spirits soared when we first caught the view from our room of the nearby Doric temple illuminated for our pleasure! Attentive, English speaking staff, a sumptuous morning buffet, and easy access to... More

Hotel Villa Athena belongs to the network of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and definitely worths its 5 stars. I have got a superior room with an astonishing view over the "Concordia Temple". The room was perfect in any sense, even if not very big, which indeed makes sense considering the location. The restaurant was also impressive, with... More

This old villa has been meticulously restored into a small hotel. From the minute we walked into the lobby, we were greeted with every kindness. Our windows opened onto the Temple Concordia, which is stunningly lit at night also. We wandered the paths in and around the hotel. The food was terrific and the waitstaff wonderful.

I've had this hotel as one of the places I would like to stay in reading so much about it on Travel books. The sunset views I heard was spectacular. On our surprise, we were upgraded to Room 205, and that had all the amenities and much more than I ever expected. Restaurant was top notch as well.
