We spent 2 nights here. The rooms is very dated with a tiny bathroom. The air conditioning did not work well and we had a difficult time sleeping. The window did not have a screen so the mosquitoes would have eaten us if we opened the window for air. I asked about the air and was told that is how it is because they are a therapeutic resort..I don’t think so, my friend’s room was a good temperature. The pools were nice and bar staff was very accommodating, thus the 3 starts...if not for them they would get 2. This is not a good hotel for this price point.

Response from Gregorio Carraro, Proprietario at Hotel Terme Orvieto

We're very sorry to hear you didn't sleep well during the stay in our hotel. All the rooms have the mosquito net, if you told us we would have helped you to lower it down. Regarding the air conditioning: when you told us in reception to check it we immediately called our technician and he fixed the problem right away. We hope to see you and your friends again, hoping that it'll be a better stay. Best regards

This is an excellent family run hotel. The food is first rate and the spa facilities extremely good. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are rather old fashioned. I would recommend this hotel and its facilities.

The hotel building is old and needs renovation. But the staff was a good example of that kind of service when you are willing to forgive some deficiency. Exellent staff! We ate in hotels restaurant maybe the best Italian food on this trip! And swimming out in pool during the night was awesome!

We stayed at the Hotel Terme Orvieto in Abano Terme for one day before starting a 7 day cruise from Venice. We loved it so much, that we cancelled our post-cruise plans in Venice and came back to the Terme Orvietto. We spent 3 more wonderful and relaxing days there, enjoying the thermal swimming pools and great local food.Thermal water pools are pure bliss. Unbelievably tasty breakfast and gourmet dinner with wide variety (assortment) of choicesLooking forward for a longer stay in the nearest future.Hotel staff is very friendly and professional.

We were looking for a relaxing couple of days and we found it at the Hotel Terme Orvieto. Not only was it relaxing, but the thermal pools and spa were amazing, the grounds are beautiful, the food extraordinary and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Gregorio, whose family(Carrara) owns the hotel, was very informative and very kind. It happened to be the Hotel Orvieto’s 50th anniversary since its opening in 1968. The Carrara Family held a special dinner at the family farm ( “La Valletta Paradiso”) in the hills, for all of the guests staying with them this week. We got to meet people from Italy and Germany staying at the hotel. It was a fun evening with good food, wine and nice people. I highly recommend Hotel Terme Orvieto and my wife and I are already planning to go back next year.
