We booked for third week in August.. The rooms were very clean. Like most small hotels they do not have air conditioning. That is fine as long as the temperature stays below 80 however when it is 85 degrees out you have to open the windows. This hotel is right next to a busy street so traffic does not slow down until about 1 then picks up about 5. We asked for a fan but they did not have one. At least a fan would have made it bearable and cut down some of the street noise. Our room was in the back, right next to a street light so we also were lit up all night . Breakfast was adequate but nothing to brag about. One plus is they do have a lift for your luggage. Between sweating and the road noise we got very little sleep. We would not stay here again.
We love costing this cozy restaurant when we go to pickup or packages from Swiss Paket. The service is friendly and the meals are really well done and so tasty. Try the pork medallions in mushroom sauce with crokets.
On the way from ZRH airport to Schaffhausen, we entered Germany by car and decided to have dinner in the Restaurant zu Löwen - which we understood is at the same time a small hotel. Food was really well prepared and fairly priced - service was friendly and we were seated outdoors which was very comfortable as we were enjoying decent temperatures of about 20 degrees in the evening hours - definitely an excellent choice.
Had to be in the remote city of Jestetten for a couple of days and the choices of hotels was between two hotels so I prepared for the worst. Going with very low expectation I was satisfied with what I found. Hotel very clean. Room is not excessively small. Bathroom average decoration but spotless clean. First day Internet was excellent but being a border town with network confusion the wifi as well as 3G brought me back 10 years in technology. Breakfast is average with good bread and coffee and some fruits but very limited cheese selection.
great hotel, really friendly staff, rooms clean, good size, really comfy beds, nothing was too much bother for the staff and they were very accommodating, good continental breakfast, really central good access to supermarkets. and local restaurants. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
We found this hotel as we drove along without any booking. We were asked to view room before staying to be sure we would like. One of the best rooms on our whole trip. Service was second to none and the meal was as good if not better than any other. and also great value. Breakfast good, just a shame we could not stay longer.
Stayed overnight at the hotel while on a bicycle tour. Very clean, helpful and nice staff, and a garage for the bikes. Room was nice and remodeled recently. The included breakfast buffet was good with cereal, breads, fresh fruit, and yogurt. Coffee, tea, and juice too. Restaurant on-site (didn't try it though) and several others in walking distance. A supermarket (Penny) is nearby too. Reservation can be done via email, response was quick. Free wifi. Yes, hotel is run by a family and they live on the ground floor near the entrance, it was more personal that way (another review said less "professional", but that didn't bother me). They were all very nice.
While my husband and I were visiting Rheinfall nearby , though in Switzerland, we noticed the Tourist Information Board listing properties with rooms available. We knew nothing about this hotel, but took a chance on it. The hotel was easy to find, and there was free parking around it. We found the younger people who manned the desk and were chatting with each other very friendly, though I agree with one of the earlier reviewers that the older gentleman on duty in the morning, I'm guessing the father?, did not exude warmth and friendliness! Having said that, I have absolutely no complaint about my stay there. He was perfectly civil. We were on the top floor, but, thankfully, there was a lift! Our double room was more like a suite. A large area with seating arrangements, a shower/toilet with plenty of space, and a large bedroom. The bed was comfortable, the decor and furnishings bright and fresh and we had a lovely time. We chose to economise and bought our breakfast from a bakery. We visited the neighbouring restaurant for our evening meal. This is not part of the hotel, even though it looks like it. It therefore has a separate entrance. It is indeed very popular, as the other reviewer commented, the meals well priced and the food delicious and beautifully prepared.…
I stayed at this hotel with a group. The rooms were fairly modern and clean, except for the towels - they were old and clean. Free WLAN and very reasonable minibar prices. Breakfast is included and was fine. The hotel is run by a family. The entrance area is also used by the family. The atmosphere was not very professional. The son was freindly enough, and the woman in charge of breakfast was very pleasant. The older gentleman at the desk was in a very bad mood. I had the feeling the condition was permanent. The restaurant really has nothing to do with the hotel. They serve very good typical german food. The prices are reasonable. The portions were very generous. I paid 55 Euros for a friday night. I'm not sure a room like this is worth that in Jestetten.
