I tried booking at bowshar international hotel, because i heard a lot of good things about the hotel especially it is near the oman avenues mall. When i arrived at the reception i payed cash, confirmed reservation (usual). Check your change before you leave because that was my mistake coz i was too tired from the travel and too occupied with my bags in my hands i just accept it and go straight into my room, its too late when i noticed that the change he gave me is less :( The room they gave me was too far from the elevator, ugh! The room was spacious 👍. No complimentary water. No free coffee nor tea. Water in the fridge is not free. No kettle. The aircon is dirty. They did not offer to help me to carry my heavy bags when they saw me. Ask for receipt after you check out so that they cannot put "no show" in your booking in the booking app. I guess they know that i have a lot to say in the review 😅 afterwards. I still want to give this hotel a chance.. maybe next time its better.…
I stayed a night here. Clean, quiet rooms with simple and somewhat dated furnishings. On the third floor, smoke gets into the corridor but thankfully not the room. They may have forgotten to provide a spoon when I requested one. While somewhere between the airport and Mutrah without being close to either, it's walking distance from Oman Avenues and Muscat Grand malls The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Natural History Museum are a short oTaxi ride away.
I felt we were lucky to have chosen this nice hotel with many features of Arabian designs. The room was spacious and well furnished. A huge-sized bathroom. Free Wi-Fi. The location was excellent close to restaurants and two large shopping malls just across the road. We reported the broken only window in the room but we were told that the whole window must be changed which would be later done (hopefully it would be). The front reception staff were excellent and very helpful. I recommend this hotel which I will go to if I visit Muscat again
Pros: Location Clean Own parking Check in,Check out process They immediately changed my room, when I asked for one king bed Cons: Disappointed breakfast( only bread butter jelly!!! is it continental!!) No complementary water(Water was there inside fridge but they charged it!)
The location is great - Oman Avenues Mall and Lulu supermarket is about 150m across the road and carpark. However it is next to a hospital and you may hear ambulance sirens once in a while - but that did not disturb us much as the sound wasn't too loud when in room. Taxi to airport was for 5 OMR (whole taxi not per person). Shared taxi to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque was 200 Baisa/person. The room was big and clean but rather old. No complimentary bottled water nor tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was just 4 slices toasted bread, butter, jam, coffee and orange juice. OK hotel for convenience.
I got a good decent room with average space. Bed and sitting arrangements are ok. Bathroom is an old looking with a poor bathing space. Internet is free, but breaking. Restaurant is an average one, better go out for food. Service and reception is good.
The room is spacious, clean and the staff is helpful and always smiling. However, the bed wasn't very comfortable, there was noise at night which made falling asleep a bit hard. Wifi in the room was very slow and interrupted. Not the best choice in Muscat but fair in terms of value for money. The hotel serves alcoholic beverages which differentiates it from hotels with the same budget!
Just i arrive in Muscat from 4 days, the bad luck is i need stay with my job here and on this hotel booked by the customer. The rooms are ok like dimension, but the AC in room is disaster , full of lickeage impossible to set the temperature less of 27 degree. I stay with the box of the garbage on the desk to flow the water inside. The menu of restaurant is very big but the quality is very bad, many of my colleagues , inclusive me have problems with the stomach. In one evening i order a Tournedos Steak, who eat this will say, wow, great , very good, but here this need be take out from the menu. I wait to bring be a good and nice steak, but in the end arrive a pieces of meat, slim and flat like a paper book, old and very hard.Impossible to consume. Personal here is ok, very kind and helpful, but the service is very, very bad. Try another hotel with the same price, you will find some with pool and gym on the same price or with 5-6 riyal more, but impossible to compare with this…
Well, I’ve been to this hotel twice (July 2009 and April 2011) and both times for business reasons. What can I say? It’s a clean and calm hotel with decent room service, expensive (but good) beer, delicious sea food, slowest internet and no pool. Location… it took us about an hour walk to get to the closest beach; the hotel is surrounded by construction sites but it is a normal thing that the area is being renovated and reconstructed. The taxi from the airport cost us 6 or 7 OMR. Note that all the taxi services are state-owned, unlike Dubai all the drivers are locals (some of them are employed by state security service) so please avoid negative talking about the sultan or country politics etc. Ok, back to the hotel. It is not a hotel for tourists for sure as one would like to get something closer to a beach but for business purposes it is ok apart from slow/dead internet. Fish courses in the restaurant hotel are the best and are a must. There is also a bar (separate building) adjacent to the hotel but we never found a time to hang in there. The bed in my room was big as well as the TV screen. Views from my room are not worth mentioning. There is also a free parking at Bowshar.…
