Al Maha Hotel has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere on entry to the hall. Room 503 has 2 big windows overlooking the city and therefore allows fresh air to circulate around the room. Restaurant is manned by polite and friendly staff who conscientiously deliver my ordered meals in a clean and hygienic tray. High-Five for the location of this Hotel as it is centrally located near shopping centers, supermarket and restaurants. Thanks to Mr. Deepu (Manager) and Mr. Kafeel (Reception) who attended to all my requests with delight and smile. Thanks to Mr. Bornan (Housekeeping) who maintains the clean-up of my room and replenish my bottled water and coffee sachet daily. I will look forward to checking in again to this Hotel on my next trip to Muscat.
Staff are rude and not respectful. The wireless connection is the worst thing in the hotel & worst elsewhere. Not good in terms of value for money. Cleaning is not good. The lobby smells bad all time.
Pros : Location close to shops and biggest malls in oman Didn't like anything but the location, sadly i spent 2 nights where this is more of a short stop hotel, disastrous wifi, outdated gym , pool is a pit , the restuarant downstairs always out of anything you order and when i ordered grilled chicken it was the tiniest chicken I've seen in my life.
Positive stuff: this is a fairly quiet hotel and we've stayed here three times. It doesn't look great on the outside but the rooms are decent, clean and large. The room price is reasonable and the Middle Eastern restaurant food is nice. The rooftop pool is small but lovely. The staff are polite and helpful. There is a western style restaurant across the road. There is a large western style, expensive mall a 30 minute walk away. Negative stuff: there's nowhere nice to walk close to the hotel as the sidewalks are broken and desert dust is everywhere. People sometimes smoke by the rooftop pool and sometimes kids are loud there. There is no bathtub but that is typical for this price range. It's slightly dangerous to walk in this area and you have to have your wits about you.
We arrived late at night without a reservation and we were lucky to get a room. Our bus Mwasalat Driver who drove from Dubai to Muscat recommended this Hotel and it was indeed a good choice. The gentleman at reception who was doing the night shift, very kind and helpful gave us a good room on the third floor and all the information where we can have dinner near the Hotel and get Cash from the nearest ATM as it was late at night. The room was huge, plenty of space to move around and also a good size bathroom with shower. Very clean too.The bed was of a King size and the mattress quite good as we had quite good sleep the two nights we stayed. A TV screen ,a small fridge and Air Con was also available in the room Complimentary bottled Mineral water ,coffee and tea were also available for us. WiFi was available but I had problems to connect, the gentlemen at reception helped a lot. Breakfast was available in the rate and it was indeed quite reasonable, no complaints. We had also dinner in the Hotel and it was quite good. Overall, a good 3 star Hotel clean with excellent staff and at competitive rates. The location is also good ,Al Ghubrah, near the 2 Malls. If you are in Muscat worth staying.…
