Spent two lovely nights in the Domaine de La Freynelle, where Sacha and her husband JC were wonderfully welcoming and hospitable. We stayed as a treat amidst a camping break and to visit the gorgeous vineyards of St Emilion (our visit to Chateau Laniote was fab), and had the self-contained apartment with kitchenette, which was ideal. Both were welcoming on...

A lovely place, which fits the bill if you're looking for a typical French country house and garden (including nice pool, petanque court, little garden 'rooms' to retreat to on a summer's day, etc), in the middle of the vineyards. Very personalised attention from the hostess. Recommended. (But do note - it is cash only. This wasn't prominently highlighted on...

Rarely does one come across an owner who thinks about their guests and their interests. Whether it was the bedside reading or the restaurants Sasha wanted us to enjoy, she had thought about it. The Polo suite was impressive and filled with interesting memorabilia besides having a very comfortable bed and bathroom. Breakfast was eaten in a very civilised dining...

A beautiful old mansion, the interior of which has been beautifully restored, all set in a vast garden, divided in different sections, including a tennis court, petanque, outdoor heated swimming pool. You can take dinner outside if the weather is fine - good food and drink (naturally being in Bordeaux region). An enthusiastic owner was helped by a pleasant Czech...

Neither myself or my girlfriend normally write reviews, but we do often use trip advisor, and felt after our experience here, that the below review paints an inaccurate picture. We were looking for hotels at the last minute around st emilion, and despite the review below we decided to take a chance - Probably one of our best recent holiday...

Our room required the agility of a mountain goat to access it. It was so impossible that we had to unpack a few items from our suitcases and leave them in the car. We were unable to stand up in the bedroom and the bathroom due to the very low beams and slanted ceilings. There were used slippers and used...

Freynelle, Owner at Domaine de La Freynelle, responded to this review

Domaine de La Freynelle is a small B&B run by myself, the owner. The manor house is old, 1773, and has been renovated from top to toe. It is important to listen to reviews and read constructive criticism. Consistently, I ask my guests if there is something that needs improving and, in the past, I have had pertinent suggestions which...

Fantastic B&B (only 3 bedrooms) in an old Bordeaux house perfectly renovated with antique furniture and smart decoration. The bathroom was spotless. Beautiful garden with nice pool. The hosts are charming and the breakfast was perfect. You can also book for a caviar dinner some days! An extraordinary deal (we paid 85€ for one night).
