We had a room located up a few flights of stairs (luckily we were helped with our luggage) and had an outdoor bathroom, and a separate bath on the balcony which was a really impressive set-up. The room was spacious, but we only stayed for the 1 night and had a late check-in, so we didn't get to explore this hotel and surrounds more. We had read a few conflicting reviews talking about airport transfers. We paid USD$30 for the two of us, return trip.

I was there for 1 night and it was ok. Staffs were helpful and very nice. The stay in the room was comfortable. But the thing that I hated was the WiFi issue. I was told that for WiFi I have to get a voucher from them, which was fine by me. The receptionist girl who was very friendly even got it to me to my room. But in that voucher it was written that the password will expire in 1 day but it kept getting disconnected with every 2 hours and it was a hassle. If this WiFi issue could be solved then it will be amazing

We had quite a large wait in between our seaplane transfer and our actual flight so thought it best to book a hotel. We selected Coconut Tree and it was perfect. Everything was great; from the friendly, professional service, to the airport transfers arranged for us to the really lovely room upgrade with amazing outdoor bath and shower, we really loved our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were really wonderful.

This hotel is such a poor advertisement for the Maldives! I don't normally write reviews but feel I must pass on comments from our dreadful visit to Coconut Tree Hotel. The website simply doesn't closely reflect what you'll find. The rooms do not have the facilities they state (safe, mini bar, hair dryer, ironing board, etc), the breakfast was the worst I've ever experienced in any hotel worldwide and our room wasn't cleaned until we returned to it at 5.30pm and had to ask for someone to come and clean it.

If you are unlucky enough to be given a 2nd floor room, be prepared to be woken very early as table and chairs are dragged across the roof terrace settin up breakfast.

If you need Internet access, don't expect good connectivity and be ready to keep having to log back on again with different codes, useless!

Perhaps the worst aspect is the poor management of the hotel. The manager we experienced was rude, unhelpful, and simply useless about assisting us in our frustrations and complaints. We spent ages trying to sort things but she was ineffective in every area.

My comments are honest and reflective of a totally bad experience, my advice is try elsewhere as I'm sure there are many nicer places to enjoy. Good luck.

My husband and I stayed here for one night before heading to an island resort. Starting with the good points:
- Room was clean, well air conditioned, good wifi and bed was comfy,
- The suite was spacious and balcony pleasant to sit out on (this was not what we had booked - think it was compensation for one of the points below)
- We had an unexpected meal credit in the hotel restaurant - our booking did advise full board but we didn't realise that this meant credit for food and beverage items in the restaurant in the evening. The food was good.

A few things to be worked on:
- Airport pick up was poorly organised. We were met straight off our flight then waited over an hour for another couple from another flight. The hotel is a 10 minute drive away. At one point we got into the car as the other couple had "cancelled" as we left the airport they "arrived" so we ended up queuing to go back to the airport. (Think this led to the room upgrade - appreciated)
- The towels smelt very damp, probably from being stored damp.
- Breakfast was limited - toast, omelette, 2 processed sausages, juice and water. No coffee.
- The beach in front of the property has a lot of rubbish, there are a several derelict plots rubbish piles around. The area has coffee houses and restaurants, as well as new hotels and apartments popping up and I imagine with some TLC and a little more investment the area could be much improved. At the current time I wouldn't choose to stay here more than a night in transit.

Performs perfectly its job - to give a comfortable night to Maldives visitors who can’t match their international arrival or departure time to the daylight-hours only schedule of the floatplanes. A small hotel, overlooking the beach, which provides airport pickup and drop off services with minimum fuss. Our room on the third floor (no lift!) offered a comfortable bed, fast wifi, and the highlight being a large patio with semi outdoor shower and bath facing the beach. Dinner was fine at a diner on the Main Street. Very helpful staff.
