I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Lough Mardal in September. From the moment we arrived, the feeling of calm washed over us and all was right with the world. The location is so stunning and so unbelievably peaceful. The yurt was decorated with impeccable taste, the stove meant that it was so cosy and all the little fairy lights and candles made it feel like a room from a fairytale. I honestly had one of the best sleeps of the year...the ambience and the comfort of the beds were just dreamy. The centre house is so stunning with all the natural wood and it has so many great facilities...everything you could possibly need. I particularly like that they encourage you to leave technology in the foyer, if really adds to a very zen atmosphere in the main room. Lots of great books on offer and the large open fire adds even more wow factor to an already impressive room. Clare and Marcus were wonderful hosts and having Archie the dog around was a great added bonus. Who doesn’t love a doggy cuddle...he’s adorable 🥰 All in all, I had the most wonderful time and already looking forward to my return 💓…
Really lovely secluded spot close to Donegal town. Yurts are cosy and once you get the wood burning stove going: toasty and warm. We had a great view of the Lough and were lucky enough to see the stars from our bed the nights we stayed. The kitchen had all you could need once you brought the right ingredients to cook at your leisure. We were big fans of the picnic baskets they had for daytripping. Owners were very friendly as well. Archie, their dog, was also a great companion for walking back and forth from your yurt to the main lodge.
Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for two nights. It was such a great getaway. The yurt was very cosy and the stove was lovely. The vibe of the entire place was very chill which was exactly what we wanted. We took a few beautiful walks down by the lake and up Lime Hill. The picture is of Archie who joined us for the sunset one night. Would highly recommend, perfect place to recharge and reset.
I couldnt recommend this place enough! The yurts are amazing, equipped with stove burner, cosy blankets, lamps etc, everything you could need. The view from our yurt was so beautiful of the lake and mountains. Common areas are also beautiful with great views and bbq area, campfire etc! There is a kitchen with fridge, cooker, potS pans etc for making meals!
Could not recommend this place enough! The yurts are unbelievable and equipped with everything you could need. We stayed in the sundew yurt which had amazing views of the lake and our own private decking. The common areas are great also! The surrounding areas are beautiful!
