First impressions were good but after 30 min in the room I realised how cold the room was, I went to check the windows and found the nets were covered in mould, the wall paper was peeling from the damp and was covered in water marks. The windows were rotten and single glazed, I can understand the building is probably listed but it's possible these days to get double glazing that meets listing conditions. Then I realised how filthy the room was, the promised Covid-19 deep clean to help infection control must have missed this room! The dining room was also freezing and talking to other guests, they also complained their rooms were cold. The food was OK and plenty of it although a female member of the restaurant staff emitted an strong wiff every time she walked past that was enough to put you off the food, sadly soap, water and deodorant must be expensive in Chester. Would I return, probably not.

This lovely hotel deserves all the business they can get! A short drive from excellent shopping in Chester with safe free parking and beautiful grounds. For £67 a room , a swim , a fantastic treatment and breakfast. What’s not to like ? There’s a deal on the fabulous salon quality skin products too. Dinner was gluten free fish, chips and mushy peas and it was hot and delicious. Breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for Lewis the server in the breakfast room. I’d like to give a special mention to Emma who was the beauty therapist. Despite the current climate and down turn in custom she remains professional. Fantastic back and shoulder massage Emma!! Smiles, warmth, professionalism and positivity radiate from the team throughout the hotel. Get booking everyone and give them a chance to get back on their feet.

Without doubt, Christmas came early with this two night spa break through Spa Seekers for myself and my 2020 lockdown lodger. We struck gold! Yes, agree with one or two other reviews that the decor is a little tired, but it is still a beautiful character setting outside the city, giving you the perfect mixture of chilled relaxation and the vibrancy of Chester when needed (£6 taxi ride away). The bedrooms were spacious, the breakfasts well cooked and the staff incredibly friendly. With the offer of dinner, afternoon tea, three spa treatments and a bottle of wine all thrown in for a price you can pay for well known 'budget' hotel chains, you can't complain at a little wear and tear here and there. Already planning the next visit....

Went here for a birthday treat, and what a hotel! Stayed in a suite room 8 and it was beautiful. Very spacious with modern decoration and an outside space. Used the pool which was great. Had a 2 course meal from the festive menu..delightful and the service was extraordinary. The receptionist Dan and the waitress were very hospitable even informing us of discounts for shopping at Cheshire Oaks. A fantastic hotel will be visiting again

We’ve stayed here quite a few times now, it’s a lovely place to stay and in a great location, only a short 5-10 min drive in Chester, but out of the way so you don’t feel like you’re in the city centre. The staff are always really friendly, the rooms are really clean and nicely decorated and in general we’ve never had any problems! It’s also really nice to have the option to use the Spa, it makes for a really relaxing getaway. We’re looking forward to returning when we’re able to!
