We have been returning guests for the past 10 years, so Sólyomvár has become our No. 1. holiday retreat in the Zemplén Mountains, far away from the rush of the city. A perfect hideaway for all seasons. The pension is run by a very hospitable family who really put their hearts into running this guesthouse. Our stays in Komlóska always...

Stayed here for 2 nights during a recent organised bird watching holiday in Hungary. Our rooms were on the ground floor but we had a raised balcony at the rear providing lovely views over the farm land. The room was light and airy with a separate bathroom. The dining room was downstairs, breakfast was of the continental type and taken...

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a group of 10. Rooms clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was help yourself Continental and enough to start the day. Evening meal was set and was also enjoyable. Drinks very cheap, bottle of beer less than £1 and a glass of wine just a little more. Staff friendly and...

Our last years visit (2 nights) was great, now in this october more than better. Our room (nr. 14) was big enough for 2 adults and 2 children, the breakfast is great with local dishes, the dinner and the drinks are so cheap, the location is perfect. The mini zoo, the small river, the garden and all other things around...

We stayed 3 nights as part of an organised bird watching trip. We appeared to be the only guests. This led to a bit of a sleepy feel, with not many staff on hand nor much going on. That said our set menu's were basic but filling. As a pseudo veggie - be warned the whole of Hungary appears to...

We stayed here for 2 nights - the hotel has very modern facilities, in a lovely village. Warm, friendly and very good food. The wines are cheap and excellent. No mobile phone coverage, but we did get Wifi.

The place, the village, the hotel and the restaurant is absolutely excellent. The location is far far away from everything. There is only one point in the village, where you have wi-fi and there is only one sq meter where you will have cell phone coverage. So if you would like to leave behind you the noisy cities, this is...

I've stayed here for a few nights every year for the past 3 years, and this lovely little hotel never fails to impress. It's clean, warm and everything - food, service, and facilities - are done to a high standard. The family who run the hotel are friendly and go way beyond the call of duty. I look forward to...
