Grand old hotel with new additions, but retains that homely character. Views from front spectacular. The rooms were spacious, clean great sized bed, hugh bathroom. Nice pool complex, which we used with jacuzzi, sauna, steam-room and plunge pool. Had well equipped gym and weights room. Bar food in main bar was good, specials each day. Had one meal in Nephin Restaurant, a little more expensive than the bar, but worth every cent, would recommend treating yourself a least one night. Food was delicious. Breakfast...we would return for the breakfast alone, good quality ingredients taste came right through. Good midpoint between Achill and Newport on Greenway Great causeway opposite to blue flag beach for swim or simply dip the feet. Recommend and will definitely return.
We are currently touring around Ireland and stopping in various locations. This hotel was a disappointment and especially for the price. We stayed in an apartment which I don’t think has seen a duster since it’s been open from looking at the cobwebs. The room looked very tired and interestingly the skirting boards weren’t painted near the wardrobes etc (they couldn’t be bothered to move the wardrobes). Tried out the swimming pool which was nice and the staff there were very friendly. Beware you do need to wear a swimming cap in the pool. They do sell them at 3€. Booked an evening meal for 7pm which was ok, at 8.10pm we were asked by a waitress if we could take our drinks and have them in a closed off room which was for a wedding party the next day as they needed the table. I feel this was rude and not putting the customer first. We did oblige but didn’t stay in the room as it was clearly for a wedding with no one less in there etc. Breakfast was nice with enough choice etc.…
Firstly I want to start off with your night porter paddy. I have never met a more rude and ignorant man in my entire life, he has not a clue how to deal with the general public and should realise he can’t speak/treat people the way he does, there was an issue and he disappeared and he left a new night porter to deal with problems he didn't even no how to solve. He threatened to kick a paying customer out because he complained at the bar for waiting 20 minutes to be served a drink. Other people were waiting longer than 20 minutes. Bar staff were under pressure but worked as best as they could. Management is a main issue in this hotel as not one of them can sort out any issue. They simply just don’t care.
Food was lovely. Staff were great ans experienced too. Claire at reception was brilliant went very much out of her way to get me pain killers without any prompting at all could not help enough. 5 stars
Just back from a lovely stay in mullranny park hotel and what a lovely experience we had. A party of five travelled for a friends wedding and stayed in a two bed appartment. Knew the area so requested a view of the bay and we were not let down lovely big balcony over looking clew bay. Check in staff very swift and lots of information available. Appartment had all we needed tea coffee fridge cooker microwave etc. Now for the food it was amazing wedding meal beautiful with lots of local produce each course was a real treat and the next morning breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice abd the service was a credit to all the lovely staff. Easy access to visit friends next day in achill and came returned that evening for a lovely meal in bistro. A lovely gift of chocs as we checked out will definitly return again.…
We have to stay our 3 day stay was so enjoyable. The room was so comfortable, food was great. The staff went out of their way to help and where very pleasant at all times. Would live to back there to day again.
Me and my family came to this hotel for a wedding being from England we booked an apartment and stayed for the weekend and it was perfect. The apartment was gorgeous with the most incredible views off the balcony and the whole place was very spacious. I cant fault the hotel at all it had incredible facilities including a swimming pool , sauna and jacuzzi. There were definitely some areas that needed a little TLC however on the whole we were all exceptionally happy with our stay and would love to come back again.
Attended a family wedding here in June. Can't fault anything about this hotel. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were so polite cheerful and helpful and food was very very tasty indeed The room where Wedding breakfast was served was so bright and spacious with amazing views We can't wait to make a return visit. Thank you to all in this Hotel. Take a bow
So great location and ideal for visiting Achill or Ballycroy National park. However, recommended to us by trusted Irish relatives who had stayed there pre pandemic and no doubt had a 4 star rated experience at the time. However it’s not a 4 star hotel currently. For US visitors, IMO it’s between and US 2 and 3 star. The restaurant fare was probably the worst we had on our 3 week trip. Another example was that the faucets in the bathroom were coming loose in our apartment. It had an unkept appearance all round and the place needs a big shake up following the pandemic. I’m sure the owners will recognize that and address the obvious shortcomings. We ultimately regretted booking in and should have stayed closer to Westport(30 minutes away).
As a Family we socialised there for three days, we had a family party locally, we were very well looked after by Kenneth Ann and the lovely Valerie, we had some brilliant lunches and dinners, sitting outside on the a beautiful day with a rockshore in hand and plates of smoked salmon catching up with family, hotel was busy with weddings and had a lovely buzz. Great spot
