We stayed for a sister's getaway - all five of us to celebrate all our birthdays in one weekend. Very disappointing as this hotel used to be great. Rooms were not well serviced and the carpet was soaked and mouldy - manager told us it was due to new showers that were installed 4 months earlier and leaking under the floors - no effort to fix over 4 months or compensate for this sub-standard quality. Food was served in the bar and was poor quality with rushed service. Overall we were not happy with the standard of service for the price we paid which is high.

I have to write this review on this absolutely beautiful hotel & its staff. We are a group of cyclists who have travelled the length & breath of this country staying at some amazing hotels however, the Mulranny Park hotel has now been voted the best so far for food staff location and overall service. From Bernadette in reservations to Matthew in restaurant to Clare in reception to Caroline also in reception who saved the day. Mustn't forget Kenneth in the bar. They all went over and above for our group in helping them enjoy our stay. The food ..... lost for words, presentation and taste wow. Hotel location looking out over clew bay stunning. Facilities super. Thanks again . And look forward to seeing you all again real soon. Colette Sims

Great re-furbishments, especially the bathrooms. As on my previous visits, staff so welcoming, food delicious and altogether a great mid-week break. Don't miss the 2km boardwalk by the sea, on the left before the Ballycroy Centre and the new craft shop "Gift of Hands" beside the Old Irish Goat Centre, both of which were new to me..

Such a lovely hotel where the staff were so friendly, polite and helpful. We stayed in a self-catering apartment which was part of the hotel. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. However, some of the kitchen facilities eg saucepans etc could do with being replaced as the coating was coming off leaving us reluctant to use them. We had a lovely view out to the sea from our balcony. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was included in our rate, we looked forward to this every morning, it was delicious and a great way to start the day. We were fortunate in that while we were there we had fantastic weather for our entire stay so we were rarely in our apartment. Mulranny itself is a small but well located wee place with some amazing beaches. The Greenway is accessible directly from the hotel grounds. We cycled to Achill one day and to Newport on another day. The swimming pool is great and accessible for families with children until 7pm and to 8pm for adults only. The pool doesn’t have a deep part so it’s very safe. It has a great sized sauna and steam room with a cold plunge pool! Would definitely recommend.

We have spent our holidays for the last number of years staying in self catering apartments in hotels around Ireland and while I do not wish to suggest that I am an expert I have stayed in enough self catering apartments to know the difference between good and bad accommodation. Mulranny Park Hotel advertises as a 4 star hotel but I would suggest their attention to detail is poor. The food was very good although breakfast was a hit and miss during our stay. THe accommodation was dated and simple tings that you expect to have in a self catering apartment like a dishwasher and washing machine were absent. The accommodation was dark and there was no light over the bathroom light, some of the lights were not working, there was limited cutlery and crockery and it had watered down washing up liquid. THere was sweeping brush and with young children these things are essentiol. THe view from the apartment was gorgeous and it was very close to a beautiful beach. Overall I would say that Mulranny was a good 3 star but nowhere near a 4 star.

Grand old hotel with new additions, but retains that homely character. Views from front spectacular. The rooms were spacious, clean great sized bed, hugh bathroom. Nice pool complex, which we used with jacuzzi, sauna, steam-room and plunge pool. Had well equipped gym and weights room. Bar food in main bar was good, specials each day. Had one meal in Nephin Restaurant, a little more expensive than the bar, but worth every cent, would recommend treating yourself a least one night. Food was delicious. Breakfast...we would return for the breakfast alone, good quality ingredients taste came right through. Good midpoint between Achill and Newport on Greenway Great causeway opposite to blue flag beach for swim or simply dip the feet. Recommend and will definitely return.

We are currently touring around Ireland and stopping in various locations. This hotel was a disappointment and especially for the price. We stayed in an apartment which I don’t think has seen a duster since it’s been open from looking at the cobwebs. The room looked very tired and interestingly the skirting boards weren’t painted near the wardrobes etc (they couldn’t be bothered to move the wardrobes). Tried out the swimming pool which was nice and the staff there were very friendly. Beware you do need to wear a swimming cap in the pool. They do sell them at 3€. Booked an evening meal for 7pm which was ok, at 8.10pm we were asked by a waitress if we could take our drinks and have them in a closed off room which was for a wedding party the next day as they needed the table. I feel this was rude and not putting the customer first. We did oblige but didn’t stay in the room as it was clearly for a wedding with no one less in there etc. Breakfast was nice with enough choice etc.

Firstly I want to start off with your night porter paddy. I have never met a more rude and ignorant man in my entire life, he has not a clue how to deal with the general public and should realise he can’t speak/treat people the way he does, there was an issue and he disappeared and he left a new night porter to deal with problems he didn't even no how to solve. He threatened to kick a paying customer out because he complained at the bar for waiting 20 minutes to be served a drink. Other people were waiting longer than 20 minutes. Bar staff were under pressure but worked as best as they could. Management is a main issue in this hotel as not one of them can sort out any issue. They simply just don’t care.
