The staff were very friendly and helpful. My son lost his watch during our stay. I reported it to reception. The hotel called me a while after we'd checked out to inform me that they had found the watch and I could collect it at reception whenever was convenient for me. On my arrival to collect the watch a few...

My wife and I stayed there last week. The rooms were clean, neat and very appealing. Service was good and the food excellent. We booked for the dinner dance on the Saturday evening and enjoyed the time there thoroughly.

We stayed at Houw Hoek Hotel this Easter week-end April 2017, and loved every minute of our stay. The Hotel is well kept, and our room crispy clean. The staff is friendly and very helpfull. Dinner and breakfast was great, we enjoyed every meal. Houw Hoek is the perfect place to go away with kids - there is play areas...

Although we enjoyed a lovely dining experience with excellent service from the wait staff, we were very disappointed in the poor check-in attention (the receptionist answered the phone before a proper check-i n was completed) at the hotel. We had a specific request for our disabled sister and assumed that it would be respected. Unfortunately, we were given half-hearted directions...

We always like to come back to this place. There are always families with children around and the facilities for play are good. Also the food is good. It would be great with an extended dinner menu on Saturday evening as the snack menu is unhealthy. We were very happy that we were allowed to order from another evening menu...

Houw Hoek is starting to show it's age, and the finishings are getting a little old. The service is average, and the kitchen is rather slow (40 minutes from order to getting a meal is a bit long). The rooms were clean, the staff were generally friendly, and the surruondings are quite special. Just don't ask for an early breakfast...

The accommodation and venue was really good, what we have come to expect and enjoy at The Houw Hoek Hotel, however the quality of the food at dinner and breakfast was extremely poor. I suffered food poisoning from stale fish (Tuna) at dinner. We did mention this to the management of the hotel, a great disappointment and we probably will...

I have known the Houw Hoek Inn (now called "Hotel") for more than 30 years - having stayed there for occasional weekends and also for Christmas 2015. This week I visited with a friend for lunch only. My expectations were dashed. The food was stale - my Pork Cordon Bleu was a disastrous thick, puddingy mess of chopped pork (I...

Cape Town is a renowned, international destination, but sadly this establishment still seems to be stuck in the same spirit as when Lady Ann visited it. Her description of this roadside inn placated on the walls is still sadly valid! The place needs a spruce, rebranding and its staff needs to be exposed to some international establishments for a chin-up...
