We had a wonderful stay during December 2020. Due to the pandemic the resort was only about 19 % occupied which truly allowed us to feel as if we had it to ourselves!!! It was amazing! Our children loved the kids club and the ladies that work there were great! They engaged the kids and did lots of fun activities like pirates treasure hunts, arts and crafts and games.... it was good since it gave my husband and I a chance to relax for a short while knowing the kids were well taken care off and happy. We had a family suite Diamond Club... the room worked out for us since the kids had their own space and we had ours... our children are 5 and 7 so the sofa bed, besides not being great, was ok for them... they actually liked it and loved that they had their own tv like at home to watch cartoons. Shower and room location were nice since we wanted close to the beach.... if you rather be closer to the main building of the resort ....Diamond Club building is further from it... but closest to the beach. In my opinion Diamond Club upgrade was absolutely worth it.... we had the diamond club pool and restaurant that opened mid day with food and snacks so we never had to leave the beach for lunch which was a plus for the kids, since they just wanted to stay in the beach and pool... we did eat lunch in the Italian restaurant and was very good too.... our favorite was Hunter...food was good and the creme brûlée desert delicious... the coffee shop very good and the ladies that work there the best... after the first day they would remember exactly what I had liked.... our Butlers... Augustus and Sarsha were outstanding!!! Anticipating our needs and always checking in on us... they lined up all our dinner reservations for every restaurant and we would have the cold champagne ready in the room waiting whenever we requested it.... the servers in the restaurant were always polite and service was good... the resort was not too full either .... my only critique would be that room service options should have more choices... and that only one channel was working for children’s TV. The resort is located in a beautiful scenery and the beach is beautiful but the ride is very long... up and down the hills... we got very car sick... the masks on didn’t help much and is a two hour ride, just keep in mind....I would recommend it and would return as well... the workers at this resort are a true Gem we found only happy, courteous and professional ones...Kristen our house keeper was Very good. The only negative I would have to say is the fact that we were charged $30 for a lost bracelet.... those are the worse bracelets we’ve ever had!!!! I have travelled to many other resorts were the same type is used to conveniently open your room...and never had an issue... these kept on becoming untied and falling off... we managed to notice most of the time so we would pick them up and go to have them place back on... however, one our children ,obviously lost theirs and we were charged... we had no clue we would be paying for it... otherwise I wouldn’t have allowed for the kids to have them on, specially not after my husband’s and Mine kept on falling off... …
Stayed in the Hideaway adults only for two weeks over xmas and new year. Occupancy was a bit up and down due to Covid. Lots of Brit Tui package tour travellers who had booked other resorts and at other times had been relocated here due to hotel closures elsewhere. Good food and service but very much a mid-range holiday experience. Didn't get the close personal attention of other caribbean resorts. You're a bit of a transaction. Nevertheless, good time had by all.
We were pleasantly surprised with the Royalton. The rooms are spacious although the bath was within the room which came as a surprise. The swimming pools was excellent and the beach good especially if you got up around six to get a seat! A big shout out to the water sports team who were always very helpful and accommodating we went sailing in the hobicat each day which proved a lovely diversion The daily water aerobics classes were a must as Everton made them such fun and hopefully used up a few calories The food options were ok. The Chinese was nice but like a takeaway although the performance is worth attending. We spent most evenings in the steak house which had very friendly staff especially Rebekah although the menu limited
Room: 1 Bedroom Presidential Diamond Club Room in Building 7. From building 7, you can get a nice view of the entire resort and an angled view of ocean but the ocean view and sounds of the waves were wonderful. The room was spacious with a wet bar with mini fridge, large living area with drawers and a closet, extra full bath. The master bedroom had a large master bath with an annoying sliding door closet with 3 sliding doors, jacuzzi tub, double sinks, and water closet. It also had a 2nd mini fridge for beverages. The patio had a large jacuzzi tub facing the grounds and ocean. We liked the room and the bottled beverages. FYI: Bottled water was only available in your room or at the Diamond Club bar. If you asked for water at the coffee shop, you'd get tap water served in a glass. If you're checking out, bring water and drinks for your 1.5 - 2 hour ride back to the airport. Beach, Ocean and Pool Areas: The beach area was clean. There was a rock wall that created a protective and somewhat calm swimming area. Snorkeling was fun but you won't find the colorful or diverse fish you'd find at Coral Gardens in Grace Bay or the Mesomerican barrier reef. Food: Portions were small, especially at the steakhouse. I ordered a filet, and got a quarter cut of one about 3.5 inches in diameter and 2 cm in width. The Diamond Club beach bar had a grill menu where a DOUBLE order of their fried shrimp gets you 4 shrimps. I feel like the room service coffee needs its own space in my review. Basically, do not order it. It tasted sour and bitter. It couldn't be redeemed with milk and sugar. At least the temperature was hot. Get coffee from the Diamond Club Lounge or the Coffee Shop (but only after 7am). COVID may have affected their supply chain, but just be aware that the hotel pricing is not adjusted downwardly for less food availability. Service: Everyone is on island time. It's funny. We visited St. Lucia 10 years ago, and nothing has changed. If you don't want to spend more than an hour waiting for your food during lunchtime, go to the buffet or order from the Diamond Club grill if you don't want to waste precious beach time. We hit the sportsclub for lunch one afternoon and it took more than an hour to get our food. The poutine ended up soggy and lukewarm. We also hit the Italian place for lunch and it took an hour to get our pizzas. The Italian place won't allow you to order a pizza to go. It must be dine in. Diamond Club: Service was disorganized. If I wanted to order a drink or food from the DC beach club bar, do not go straight to the bar. I had to call my butler and order it, per the bartenders working the grill and bar area. If your butler is busy tending to other guests (you are assigned a couple of butlers that you share with other guests), or cannot be located by the redirected call operator, you have to wait. The bar and grill will fill your order only AFTER you provide an exasperated explanation that you can't find your butler or they are busy with other guests. Kids Club: Available only in morning and afternoon sessions that lasted 2 hours each session. If your kid went in the morning, they cannot return in the afternoon in the same day once capacity is reached. Kids Club hours were also 10AM - Noon, and 2-4 in the afternoon. Reservations for Restaurants: Diamond Club status allows your butler to book reservations for the week. If you are not DC, you have to line up early in the AM at the restaurant rsvp desk (located outside of the buffet) to make reservations for a couple of days in advance.…
We went to the Royalton to celebrate our wedding with our friends and family during the pandemic. We had the most amazing time and highly recommend this resort for weddings and vacations! The spa services were fantastic, the ladies went above and beyond! The gym was very nice. The beach was very nice (it is a bit rocky). The rooms are sooo beautiful!
