I visited The Great House in April while visiting family in Newport. It was a lovely peaceful stay, with fresh flowers in the bedroom. The breakfast was fab and Dinah was a very accommodating host. Would recommend highly and would visit again.

I had been searching the internet for an interesting and hopefully picturesque bed and breakfast near to Newport. My daughter needed somewhere convenient to Newport to stay whilst renewing her passport. Also to visit Cardiff. Caerleon proved to be very suitable for both these purposes. But even better was the B&B that I chose! Great House was both picturesque outside...

Myself and a friend stayed in Dinah's gorgeous B&B for a few nights in October and she really made our stay perfect. Our room was lovely, the garden and views from the back truly make you feel that you're in the Welsh countryside and we were served a great breakfast each morning. The building is stunning with old beams and...

Stayed here this month ,October 2015,what a fantastic little place, home away from home. Firstly, when we arrived we were welcomed by Dihna, what a lovely lady, shown to our rooms which were spotless and homely, everything fresh and clean. For breakfast she could not do enough for you, fine breakfast looking out on a lovely back garden with the...

I stayed for a six month period at Great House and what a great B&B it was, a beautiful house in wonderful surroundings. Dianh was extremely welcoming I couldn't of asked for a better welcome to Wales. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and pubs a short walk away. I would highly recommend staying at The Great House you won't...

Wonderful warm welcome from Dinah. The house is absolutely gorgeous - so charming and characterful. Lovely bedrooms and very pretty bathroom. The breakfast surpassed our expectation - everything was beautifully presented and utterly delicious! The interior of the house is delightful and the garden leads down to the River Usk. We stayed at Great House when we attended my Son's graduation last month. The welcome we received at this 17th century house was second to none. Dana Price, the proprieter, is an absolute gem. The rooms were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. My mother and I shared a twin room and my Son occupied the twin room next door. There...

Great House is a wonderful old building with plenty of character. The wooden Tudor front door is particularly impressive as are the beams inside the house. We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay of 2 nights during the weekend of the Caerleon festival, in a spacious double room overlooking the quiet street. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked and served by Dinah,...

Great House is a lovely, grade II listed 16th Century stone house in the very quiet surroundings of the old village of Caerleon. Dinah Price has been providing B&B at Great House for 25 years! Take the opportunity to read through her visitors book - it's packed with praise for the delightful interior, warm welcome and cracking breakfast. One businessman stayed for 4 years! Dinah's passion for interiors, antiques and gardening make it a particularly charming place to stay. The house has many interesting original features such as an inglenook fireplace with bread oven and woodburner and there are beams throughout. ... more   less

“There are 2 twin room which overlook the road and a single room overlooking the garden.”

“I believe there is 1 room garden facing, though not sure whether it is a single or double. My room was street facing. There was some car traffic from residents and from when the pubs close. You tend to notice these things if you're not used to traffic noises!”
