Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I recently visited Wexford with a few friends over the weekend, staying only down the road from this hotel. On our first morning there we decided to go for brunch at about 11am and decided to try Fort Conan, and we made the best decision! The staff were all lovely and greeted us so politely and showed us to our table. There was 8 of us so we were split into 2 tables of 4, to adhere to social distancing. All the tables were spaced out 2m, and all the wait staff wore suitable PPE gear, which was greatly appreciated. All 4 of us at my table decided to get the Wild Rose, which was salmon and poached eggs on a gorgeous muffin bread, served with hollandaise sauce and rocket leaves! It was simply divine! We had a lovely waitress who gave us some recommendations of things to do in Wexford. We had such a great experience here, that we decided to come again the next morning! This time i got the waffles with fruit and maple syrup, and again it was heavenly! We had another lovely waitress who was chatty and polite! The hotel is also right next to the beach, so the views are fantastic. I can't recommend this place enough, and i'm really looking forward to my next trip to Wexford to visit Fort Conan again!

I regularly use the cafe having moved to the area from England 2 years ago. There is no question that there should be an upgrade in Stars as it is an impeccable family run establishment with a fantastic kitchen and staff. I believe the rooms also reflect the high standard and I would most definitely redirect any visitors to this hotel in one of the most picturesque and family friendly areas in South East Ireland. The wonderful family who own the hotel ensure each and every visitor is treated with great warmth and professionalism.

I've been lucky enough to stay at this lovely family run hotel before and it has always been a great place to stay. But hosts Helene and Richard have given the place a complete makeover and it is now even nicer. There is a great breakfast service to suit all tastes, and the on site Wild Rose cafe/ restaurant offers an extensive range of food and drink options. This special Hotel is ideal for people visiting SW Wexford/SE Waterford.

Everything about this lovely hotel is exceptional. Specious rooms with a comfortable bed and a great bathroom with instant hot water. The food is plentiful and filling, with a delicious breakfast which sets you up for the day. The hotel is also less then 100 yards away from Duncannon beach, and a very short stroll from the famous fort. A perfect base for touring SE Wexford or SW Waterford.

We had a delicious lunch here. The food on the kids menu was all homemade and they loved it. The waffles were a big hit for dessert. Great selection and all the adults enjoyed theirs too. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. We’ll be back!!

An amazing family run hotel. Room’s are lovely and very comfortable. Everybody are so very welcoming. It has a lovely cafe attached, the food and coffees are great. It’s a two minute walk from the beach and has lovely countryside surrounding. The owners Richard and Helene make sure that you stay is very special. Once you have stayed there, you will be planning your return.

This is a lovely family run hotel located right in the middle of the beautiful village of Duncannon., which is a stones throw from the 1 mile long award winning beach. The spotlessly clean Hotel offers various spacious rooms to cater for all types of parties, and is a fantastic base for visiting all the local sight seeing attractions both around here and even south east Waterford. The food is excellent, and there is regular weekly entertainment provided.

Have you ever been "hugged farewell" by the receptionist of a five-star-hotel? This was either because Helene and Richard were glad I left or because of sympathy and hospitality. I think the latter was the case.
Good rooms with nice ensuite bathrooms, everything was clean and tidy. Great Irish breakfast with plenty of toast as a solid starter of the day. The food was also good at reasonable prices.
My room was overlooking the beach and the sea with a remote glimpse of the famous lighthouse.
The Fort Conan Hotel is a place to remember and come back to. Thanks to Helene and Richard.

We came across this hotel while exhibiting at the ploughing championships but were already booked in to the very overpriced dundrody hotel. The owners Richard and Helene have ticked every box in creating the perfect product weather for buisness or pleasure. We viewed the rooms( for future bookings) which we modern, clean and comfortable. We had dinner in the lounge and the food was excellent! There was five of us with different dishes and each one was cooked and presented to perfection. The bar was comfortable and welcoming with a great selcetion. Richard and Helene pay great attenion to detail and customer satisfaction with great value for money. Will definitely be spreading the news of "Fort Conan" congratulations to Richard and Helene and continue the great work!
