Myself, wife and our dog had a pleasant 2 night stay. We were made to feel welcome, the breakfasts were hot, good quality and plentiful. The bedroom was clean and reasonably sized, with a comfy bed. We had drinks in the bar, and that was a good experience with plenty of locals to talk to, and our pup was welcome... More

We spent three days at the hotel. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, so apart from lunch, we had all our meals in. The local walks (15) are variable in length, delightful and fairly easy going. The local population were also very friendly and helpful - a nice place to stay!

Never having stayed before, we were unsure what to expect, and what a pleasant experience we had. We booked a deluxe room and were not disappointed. Newly refurbished, ours was spacious and comfortable, super king-size bed, quality furnishings, lovely big bathroom with jacuzzi bath and walk in shower. You get what you pay for here. We had this more expensive... More

This was our second stay at the Nithsdale in the last two years. It is a welcoming and clean hotel on Sanquhar high street with a lovely little bar area and a restaurant serving beautiful food. I can't say enough good things about the meals, which were fresh, hearty, tasty and beautifully served. The breakfasts are fantastic. Rooms are small-ish... More

Whilst travelling I suddenly needed an item from Amazon and asked the hotel if it could be delivered to them. They readily agreed and were most helpful. Nice to find a dog friendly pub in this area and that a real ale was available. Thank you Nithsdale Hotel

My partner & I stayed for 2 nights B&B. The room was very small with no door to separate the bathroom & bedroom, however I think this door was removed to maximise space (there is a door in the toilet). The room was clean & although the bathroom was tiny the shower worked fine. There was no fire safety information... More

I stayed here with most of my immediate family for a special family weekend. The rooms were good. The breakfast food was delicious and the food served in the bar and the restaurant was lovely. The staff were really helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Stayed for 2 nights, the hotel is on the main road and this unfortunately meant disturbed sleep and you were awake every morning very early with the large heavy lorries going by. The young waitresses are very friendly and helpful and nothing seems too much trouble for them. We had one evening meal which was very good and two breakfasts... More

Was here for weekend for ride of the marches. The bar staff were very helpful and efficient. Had Sunday lunch here too. It wasn't expensive there was a good choice. The only 2 things that let it down was the potatoes ( 1 roast & 2 boiled ) and no horse radish was offered with the beef. Apart from that... More
