We had one night on the campsite here whilst touring the Peak District. It is a small, quiet site. 5 minute walk into village which has good selection of pubs and restaurants. Staff at Alison House very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Overnight stay with small dog. Very clean, polite staff. Breakfast was great choice and cooked to perfection. There was a wedding on the day we arrived and with the fantastic views, enormous marquee and well presented hotel I could see why. Most definitely recommend and most definitely will return

Booked quite late due to unforeseen car problems and so we had two small doubles. Small just about covers it, but room was clean and service good. Breakfast included and excellent quality. This was the hottest day of the year so far and room was 32degrees C. Spotted a fan in reception and asked if I could have one and...

A middle size hotel in a great location for visiting local sites. Great location for Matlock, Chatsworth and Haddon Hall Breakfast was good as was our experience in the restaurant in the evenings. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The room we were in was fine, restaurant and lounge were nicely furnished but some parts needed a little investment eg...

This hotel is one of the few that I found in this area with a ground floor disabled accessible room, with a walk-in shower room. We had a lovely evening meal, and a very tasty (& large!) full English breakfast, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful with our special requirements. My only small criticism would be that our...

We used the Alison House Hotel as a base for a 3 day visit to the Peak District and dales. Cromford is the home of the industrial revolution and about 3 miles south of Matlock Bath. It made a good base and we enjoyed the visit. Alison House is easy to find and has lots of parking. We had the...

A totally wonderful experience from booking til departure. It was just what a hotel experience ought to be; friendly service & staff, delicious breakfast (nothing was too much trouble), delightful room (especially as we were a family of multiple rooms, we were placed in the same vicinity), great park for kids too, no aires and graces, no demanding OTT rules...

A well situated hotel with lots of things to do in the area, from caves to tram museums. The hotel is not the best decorated I have been in but it is comfortable and the food and staff are great. It also has a very nice garden.

Thank you so much, to all at Alison House Hotel, especially to Sharon and her Staff (with a special mention for Rosie!). Had an amazing stay from Friday to Sunday for our son's wedding last Saturday in the gorgeous Garden Room. Everything was perfect, and even the weather bucked up for 'the day' and we were able to take full...

we were put in the annex, hardly any varnish left on the window frames was a bit off putting on the way in, mud outside on the drive was a bit at odds with a pale carpet. The room was very budget and bare with no valance on the divan base which looked at odds with the glimpse of the...
