We were here very recently for one night only. We wished it could have been longer! Didn't know what to expect as one of us was last here a very long time ago - fond memories but places do change. Lovely bedroom, very decent size, really good sized bathroom with roll top bath and separate double size shower enclosure, all...

Today we had a wonderful walk around the Roadwater area and then had Sunday Lunch at The Royal Oak. Fantastic log fire burning, warm welcome from management and staff. Superb choice of five starters, main courses and puddings. I had the crusted Hake, sublime. My husband had the Roast Beef, beautifully tender and a very generous portion. Will definitely return...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights - delicious food and wine/beer both nights in restaurant. The room was really comfy, spotlessly clean and peaceful. The breakfast was PERFECT - one of the best I have had on a weekend away. Douglas was a super host, welcoming and relaxed, nothing was too much trouble - lovely! Thanks for a...

We had a beautiful room on the first floor with an en suite bathroom complete with very large shower and a roll top bath - gorgeous. We stayed for two nights and had breakfast and dinner both days. Very good full English breakfast and the dinner was good quality, well presented food. The roaring fire in the bar was very...

My wife and I recently managed a two night stay at this lovely traditional inn. We had a beautiful and recently renovated room which had an exceptional en suite and was very well equipped. The owner and staff are welcoming and the open fire and friendly atmosphere encourage you to sit and chat in the bar. We ate on both...

We received a warm welcome as soon as we walked through the door. We were able to take our dog into the bar area and we sat by the roaring log fire. Perfect! We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, a beef , mushroom and ale pie and lambs liver and bacon. Both delicious. We looked at the dessert menu and...

How lovely to re visit this old friend. Having been closed for some years it was wonderful to find the establishment has been returned to its best. Great food, great drink, great service and great value for money. Welcome home old friend.

We have had a simple lunch at The Royal Oak Inn, a pub that we have known in its excellent and also in its less attractive phases. The new owners have fettled the pub whilst retaining its considerable charm. The food is simple, but excellent: the chicken, ham, and leek pie was memorably good. The owners really deserve to succeed....
