Stayed here for 4 nights recently during a long trip to the French Polynesia. To the point:
- Great and welcoming check-in (including nice IHG recognition)
- Friendly service all around the resort
- Full bath amenities (toothpaste, lotion, nail file, cotton, etc)
My wife and I spent 5 nights here during our honeymoon in September 2018, and can highly recommend this resort. We checked in quite early, before midday, and were surprised to hear that our room was ready, so after a quick welcome drink we were...More

This hotel is tired and is scheduled for a complete remodel in 2019. We have 'over the water bungalows' which were technically over the water at least partially. They were not out on piers as other resorts in the area. But considering the age and...More

The InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa is nestled between mountains and a lagoon on a stunning French Polynesian island. Right on the resort grounds is Moorea's widest range of activities, which includes …Morethe Moorea Dolphin Center, Bathys Diving Club, tennis, kayaking, canoeing, skiing and Jeep tours. The Arahurahu Marae temple is also worth a visit. Less

We decided to rent a car for the day. Rental cars were available at the InterContinental Resort Moorea and it's wise to book a few days ahead. We basically toured the northern half of the island because we wanted to take time out to do off-shore snorkeling in a couple of spots, but it sounds like it's quite easy to circle the entire island in one day. Opunohu and Cook's Bay are nearly symmetrical bays on the north end of the island and very photo worthy. Ti'ahimanu Beach was small but pure white sand an an ample grassy parklike area under the shade of coconut trees. Decent snorkeling here! This park and beach are popular with local due to its peaceful atmosphere and more than ample parking lot and super-clean restrooms across the street. We enjoyed a tasty and reasonably priced lunch at Snack Rotui along Cook's Bay. Sit on the picnic table behind the 'snack shack' to enjoy a view of the bay while you eat. Our favorite stop was Tama'e Beach which is adjacent to the Sofitel Resort. There's wonderful snorkeling if you veer off to the left from the beach that's in front of the parking/restrooms. It's Moorea's version of an underwater Disneyland! Snorkel from the left down toward Sofitel (on the right) and you'll see an abundance of colorful fish and coral. There's also a scenic overlook above Tama'e Beach and Sofitel, which is a great place to take photos. That said, probably the highlight of our trip to Moorea was taking a motorized outrigger to Coco Beach Cafe on Motu Tiahura. (confirm what days of the week it's open for business before you go) We ate a tasty lunch on a picnic table next to the crystal blue water's edge and watched very tame stingrays swim by. (wade out to feed them...they'll swim right up to you and between your legs!). After lunch we snorkeled between Motu Tiahura and the neighboring motu. Be patient...you'll find some amazing spots although access is difficult if you don't wear reef shoes. The water is so clear and there are many colorful fish along with some huge stingrays in deeper water. Enjoy!
