We only booked in for the one night which proved to be a mistake as we could easily have stayed for many more nights. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful, we had room 9 which was a large freshly decorated room with...More
I recently went here for dinner after arriving in late off the Pennine Way. Very nice atmosphere and excellent dinner. Nice staff and good range of beer including a punk ipa which I was impressed with being so far north. Felt comfortable eating by myself.
Popped in for some food when we were on holiday in the area, We were warmly greeted as soon as we entered, We both had burgers, I had the French Burger and the better half had the Mexican Burger, they were both amazing, me being...More
Stayed at the hotel after a nearly 15 mile walk as part of the Pennine way walk I was doing over 18 days. The bedroom was a really nice surprise, tastefully modernised although some of the upstairs has seen better days.

Hi there, we loved our stay at The Cheviot, but in all honesty you might be better elsewhere! I have a good knowledge of MS as I was the secretary of our local MS support branch for over 25yrs and therefore am aware of access, walking etc; areas of difficulty. There is no on-site parking, and it's a case of just parking as near to the pub/hotel as you can. The actual approach to the door although relatively short is quite steep, and once inside most of the floors are very uneven (very old pub) All accommodation is upstairs, and there is no lift.
As I said....we had a most enjoyable stay in a lovely room! The staff and the food were superb......but I really feel any difficulty in walking could pose a problem.
