To describe Rapaura water gardens in words is almost futile… It is much more a feast for the senses than anything else. And what a feast it is. In every direction you turn, there is a new gift to explore. A new treasure to unearth. A new corner of your imagination to discover. The beauty and peace of the gardens...

Just spent a wonderful long weekend staying in The Lodge, at Raupara Watergardens. Great hospitality, amazing 1970s house, paradise like setting. Couldn't ask better if you want to get away from it all. This is a very special retreat to basics, in a very comfortable 1972 period piece home built in heart rimu timber. There is no cell phone reception...

Having visited this garden in 2005 was keen to revisit and share it with my Tasmanian man .. we took lunch because we were not sure if there was a restaurant .. on arrival a very pleasant lass told us there were tables outside for picnicers. We unpacked our goodies and were immediately welcomed by very insistant ducks onviously used...

just 3 guest rooms making this place a very quiet and relaxing one. you enjoy the gardens fully on your own when it is not open to the public. Home away from home and you have Sasha's skill to make pastries hard to choose from.

Rapaura is a great place to go to enjoy some tranquillity among the gardens and to enjoy a lovely lunch or morning or afternoon tea. We go often and have enjoyed everytime we go. Try it. Hopefully you'll enjoy it too.

It's not very often you get to feel like the Governor General of some far flung colonial outpost but for three nights my wife and I did just that! The "Lodge" at Rapaura Water Gardens is without doubt the most unusual B & B we have ever stayed in, the house when built was obviously finished to a very high...

Spent two hours here in a beautiful lush valley and waterfall sights. A lovely stop in typical NZ bush. Wear good walking shoes. Super cafe, really delicious coffee. Recommend the scrambled eggs with seared salmon.

My husband and I stayed overnight in the Cottage at Rapaura Watergardens and the peace and quiet was just what we needed. The cottage is set up with all the facilities you would need and breakfast is supplied so all we had to do was bring dinner (or you can buy at extra cost). There are lots of books and...

We have been to a number of gardens here in New Zealand as well as overseas. This would rate as good or better than any we have been to. Beautifully landscaped without being overdone. Easy walks and fantastic natural scenery. Great lunch and great hosts. Well worth the effort.

We stayed at the Rapaura Water gardens for two nights. We were two families with two young children. There's only one shower although two toilets. The accommodation is tastefully furnished. Sally lived in HK for 40 years before moving to NZ and there are touches of her well travelled life. Beautiful gardens with 5 water lily ponds. Yes, we saw...
