Terrible place. Overpriced , dirty , tired . Don’t touch it . Needs a total makeover. Breakfast was dire . Instant porridge in Scotland ?? The cooked breakfast was the only good thing. Chef may be excellent but didn’t eat in the evening there. The staff were very helpful but had no authority to give discount or compensation .

We had such high hopes of the Loch Leven Hotel, however it was disappointing. The hotel is tired and in need of some TLC. The rooms had damp patches and some of the carpets need replacing or at least a good clean. The outside garden area was tatty and needs tidying up. This hotel has a great location and could be great. The food was good and the staff all friendly but I agree with other visitors, there seemed to be a lot of staff chatting and not doing very much. A shame as with a little investment, effort and care this could be great but was over priced for what it is.

Went here for dinner with high hopes of nice views, good gin & decent food… Disappointment is an understatement. Firstly, we phoned and booked 3 days prior and when we phoned back on the day to confirm the time we were told there was no reservation and we could only get earlier than we originally booked (even though the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived) Upon arrival, we waited awkwardly to be seated while 4 staff members spoke amongst themselves behind the bar. As this place is advertised as a gin distillery, we asked what gins they sold or if they had a gin list… not only did they not have a gin list but our server couldn’t tell us any of the gins sold. The table behind us had a similar issue as a different staff member was unable to answer any questions at all about the gin and advised the man to go to the bar himself to look. Haggis bon bon starter was great. I enjoyed my main my wife did not. The service was very slow and haphazard throughout, to the point we abandoned our original idea of desert as we just couldn’t wait around any longer as we sat with our meals finished for 10/15 minutes without anyone asking were we finished. No offer of a top up on our drinks during dinner either. The atmosphere was terrible (no background music and awkward silence in the restaurant) and the general feel of the place was very poor. Don’t know it this was just an off day as read a lot of good things about this place.

Stayed here July 2021 with 4 other lads on a motorcycle tour of the Highlands. Nice hotel with addequate facilities A good selection of beers and Whiskey`s The food was superb with all 5 of us thoroughly enjoying our meals. Good location (all though the sat nav postcode does not bring you to you door. We had to use Google maps) I would stay there again.

Sadly a very disappointing evening dinner experience. We were kept waiting for ages before being taken to our table without any acknowledgement or apology. And the wait was even worse for diners who turned up after us. The slow, inattentive service continued throughout our dinner. No offers of top up drinks and we ended up abandoning the idea of desserts because we simply got fed up of waiting for a member of staff. It was such a shame that the service was so poor because the food we did manage to order was good.
