Checked in on Friday 23rd July and was greeted by Tina & Val. They were so friendly and funny. I had such a laugh and with the pair of them. I kept coming back to reception to speak with them, the pair of them did such a fantastic job in making me feel so welcome. I'm going to come back to stay just to see these fab ladies again.

I stayed in the hotel in the middle of a heatwave, which the hotel is not to blame for, however if one expects a hotel bedroom to be equipped with radiators in the winter, and in the absence of air-conditioning, it would make sense to provide fans in every room, which was not the case. The shower curtains and the shower base were a disgrace; had to cover the floor with towels as water kept leaking on to the floor, every time I had a shower. The toilet paper provided was not even a toilet roll, rather like serviettes you see on cafe tables (!). There was no shower hose either; only a static shower head. Because of Covid, cleaning staff were not to enter my room during the stay, but the rooms could be serviced upon request which was ok, however when I requested extra towels, extra coffee & tea sachets and extra toilet paper, the towels were left right on the floor whereas the toilet paper has been replaced which makes me wonder whether the toilet paper entered the room by itself and the towels chose to stay on the floor? The coffee and tea supplies were equally left by the bedroom door but only a day after I asked for them. The Sandringham Hotel is a dump and the very worst cheap hotel I ever stayed in. This was a National Holidays staycation and it baffles me how, having previously travelled with them so often, the communication between the hotel, the guests and National Holidays was so patchy and clumsy. As for the hotel, again, one should expect to sleep in a comfortable enough room which wasn`t the case because it was so hot. Surely, in a seaside town like Weston-Super-Mare, hotels would have some common sense and fit the rooms with proper ventilation, ie. fans?

Our 5 day stay at this hotel was excellent. The staff are friendly, helpful and very professional. Donna works efficiently and makes sure customers are well looked after in dining room, she has excellent customer service skills. The food was delicious, and it was 'hot'. Well done to the chef.. Not many hotels serve hot food, it was great to have a 'hot' cooked breakfast and hot cup of tea. Good entertainment on a night too. We will be back next year.

On arrival the receptionist was adamant we did not have 30minutes later room booked. So I stood my ground and demand my money back as it was paid in full. We gave her the book paper work she insisted there was nothing she could do . So I said you will not be able to serve the people behind us as I am not moving until you sort this 30minutes later she found are room. It was filthy. Room 303 . Never would we recommend to anyone this is a place to stay.

Response from Sandringham Reception, Guest Services / Front Office at The Sandringham Hotel
Responded yesterday
In actual fact what happened during the check in process was you insisted you were not travelling with anyone however your friends who had arrived prior to you had already checked you in when they arrived before you, meaning you could not be found on the computer system. You immediately started shouting and swearing at our receptionist not allowing her the chance to discover what had gone wrong. Even after several attempts to reason with you and calm you down you still did not tell her that you were staying as part of a group. Having viewed the CCTV footage of the evening of your arrival your immediate abusive and aggressive stance towards our staff member meant that had ANY member of our management team been present you would not have been permitted to continue your stay. We do not accept or tolerate bad language or abuse of any of our staff under any circumstances and further to your complaint and situation being reviewed the receptionist in question has been commended for the calm demeanor she kept throughout your barrage of abuse towards her. With regards to the "filthy room" I am pretty sure that had you experienced any problems during your stay you would not have remained quiet judging by the way you treated our receptionist over a problem that turned out to be miscommunication on your behalf, however had you raised concerns during your stay these would have been dealt with promptly. Thank you for your review and allowing us the opportunity to reply to you Regards The Management Team

This is the second time we have stayed half-board at The Sandringham Hotel and we have enjoyed our stays so much we have just booked again for next year 2022. The location is perfect and central for everything. The rooms have everything we need, the food is good and in particular the breakfasts. The staff are exceptional, so friendly yet professional at the same time and nothing is ever too much trouble, we cannot praise them enough. Already looking forward to our stay next year.
