my wife and i popped in a couple of times for food and drinks. busy pub, but the one area is like a captains cabin on a ship, quite decorative. service was ok for such a busy pub, food ok. there are plenty of tables, but you have to look around sometimes to find one. would recommend this pub.(i don,t know about hotel, we did,nt stay there).
Visited for a couple drinks while on holiday. Tried to use app to order as advised, some table number not listed on app so told to use bar. When we moved to a table on the app and order it took 25 minutes to get 2 drinks. Staff a little rude, not much effort to be extra clean for Covid. Would not rush back
Didnt stay at the hotel. Went a few times .. For food and drinks.. Food was good and hot.. Used the app for drinks, which came very quickly.. The pub itself very clean and the staff clean tables very quickly. All the staff where friendly and polite.. Definitely worth a visit..
On our way home from Devon we decided tomake this a breakfast stop, A beautiful building with a strange but lovely structure in the middle of the area. Food is the usual Wetherspoons great standard and service very good, friendly staff
There are two types of rooms at the property, standard or executive, I stayed in a standard as it was for only one night. The most important things in a hotel room for me were met, namely bed comfortable and sheets clean, pillows lovely and fluffy, and the towels were nice and white (and a proper size that wrap around a normal adult and not just a child). Also, the shower was hot and the water pressure good. Other positives were the inclusion of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, 2 small bottles for water and biscuits. The room also included an iron and ironing board, a fan, and was lovely and warm at a cold time of the year. Now for the negatives......... No USB sockets, the bathroom light above the sink didn't work, both plugs in the sink and the shower were badly rusted along with the toilet roll holder on the wall. Approx 40% of the grouting in the shower was black, and the ceiling in the bathroom was cracked and the paint flaking off in large areas. Also, one of the walls in the bedroom had extremely large cracks and looked as though it had been patched up with a different colour shade of paint in places, these were definitely not the sorts of cracks you get with new plaster over time, these cracks were more structural. Location was excellent. The hotel is situated right on the main promenade and so all the front rooms and some of the side rooms have a lovely view of the pier and the beach. To the rear of the hotel, a 5 min walk will take you to the theatre or to the local shopping centre. There is no parking at the hotel, however there is a large open carpark, which allows overnight parking a few yards further up the promenade......Melrose Car Park BS23 2AW Overall opinion............ it was comfortable, and was adequate for a one night stay, and the internal access to the Wetherspoons pub next door was convenient, however if I considered staying here again in the future, I would not book a standard room at the property as I felt the price of £90 a night for room only was excessive for the condition of the room. Some of our party stayed in executive rooms which were much more spacious and the decor/ condition much better, so if I visited Weston-Super-Mare again, I would possibly stay in an executive room or consider a different hotel.…
We came here a couple of times over the weekend for food and drinks. Both days met our expectations and food came quickly when served on the app. The staff were extremely busy on the Saturday due to Christmas parties and children running around where we were sitting, but the staff were extremely helpful and tried to resolve this with the parents whilst ensuring they served customers. On busy days, the have a queuing system at the bar where you are served one by one and can be quite a long wait. However, there are three floors, all with bars, and plenty of seats.
Staying in a hotel opposite and popped across for a beer and meal. Good service and a reasonable meal as usual. Its located in a great spot opposite the beach. The hotel looks nice and again is well placed for the each and town. Parking looks limited though.
Spent a couple of nights here. I've always booked the cheapest room at a Wetherspoon hotel; but this time I upgraded to a sea view for an extra £10. The difference for that tenner was beyond expectation. Not only did I have a magnificent view of the entire sweeping coast from a big bay window with two comfy armchairs in it, but the room was huge--about 4 times the size of the small single rooms I've had before. A bath with proper hot water, plus a warming radiator that was easily adjustable. Apart from a little damp around the front wall, the room looked very well painted and clean. On top of this, the two staff who dealt with me were outstanding--both efficient and friendly. If I return to Weston, I'll book this hotel again like a shot.
Bar busy and app gave wait of 7 minutes for food and 17 minutes for drinks. Food arrived but the Mexican rice had been dried out in the microwave. My drink however still hadn't arrived after 35minutes. This is not good. Finally got served but only after challenging a member of staff. If the app cannot cope when busy it needs suspending. Probably my worst spoons experience.
Stayed in Room 204, lovely spacious room with a sea view.Spotlessly clean and a good selection on the refreshment tray. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. Had an evening meal and a breakfast both of which were delicious and good value for money. There was nothing to complain about.
