Bill and Valerie were hugely supportive of my walking venture. Good, no frills accommodation with nice sheets and towels, plenty of hot water and excellent breakfasts. Allowed me to leave my car with them for three days. Then, ideally located near bus stop for return on number 685 bus from Hexham and Newcastle.

I travelled from Sydney, recently and stayed four nights at Sands House B&B while visiting relatives in the local area. It has everthing you would require from a B&B the rooms are basic, but clean warm and cosy. The breakfasts are delicious and varied, I was lucky enough to have fresh salmon one morning. Valerie is the B&Bs treasure she...

Super location on the edge of Brampton. Very friendly hosts - good local knowledge. Super rooms & a magnificent breakfast. Just what you want from a B&B - highly recommended.

Valerie made us very welcome with much needed tea and cake served in the spacious lounge area which was once the pub bar. She clearly knows what cyclists want! Very comfortable room, immaculately clean and a good sized bath in the en suite. Again, perfect after a long, hilly bike ride to get to Brampton. Well-placed and an easy stroll...

Welcoming b&b with friendly couple and helped to dry the wet clothes. Clean bathroom and good beds. Pity there weren't any nearby good pubs or restaurants to serve food.

Stayed one night here but never again! On entering we noticed a strong stale smell of cooking . Our hostess informed us that we had to have breakfast at either 7.30 or 8.00 the following morning as she had a lot of people and we would have to wait. Rather surprised as we had just arrived we reluctantly agreed and...

Sands House is a traditional stone building on the A6071 about a third of a mile east of Brampton town centre. This is not a luxurious place to stay, but at £50 for a small twin room, it was decent value. We were greeted with tea and cake by our hosts Bill and Val. The room had recently been refurbished,...
