Came here a week ago and had a lovely turkey roast diner, plenty of turkey and cooked to perfection. Good covid precautions in place too. On the back of that we came a week later, and whilst the food was again excellent, covid precautions seemed to have gone through the window. Whilst the girl who served the food wore a mask the man behind the bar didn't. Diners were walking around with no face covering, others where ordering drinks at the bar. The table next to us had 4 people, listening to the conversation, no way were they from the same household. Felt really unsafe. Shame really because the food was fab

Everything was Covid safe and secure. Portions were very generous and the Roast Beef melted in the mouth and the vegetables still had bags of flavour and crunch - just how we like them! Desserts were piping hot and delicious. Great value for money.

Visited the Stanley Arms to celebrate a 70th birthday. We abided by the socially distancing rules and had pre dinner drinks in a lovely room with an open fire. Dinner was served and the meal was very good. The sticky toffee pudding to die for. The landlady Carolyn bought in individual chocolate cakes to wish Maureen a very happy birthday. We then went back to the bar for after dinner drinks before retiring to our rooms by 9:30pm ( the pub was due to close at 10:00pm under COVID rules) Our room was great quaintly old fashioned but warm and snug and we finished off the complementary Sherry. When we woke and looked out over fields it was wow what a view just lovely. Breakfast was plentiful good locally sourced produce cooked and presented well. The landlords Carolyn and Adrian were real characters they made us very welcome. We really enjoyed our stay and think once all the restrictions are lifted we will certainly have another visit.

It was a cold autumnal day and my friend and I were chilled to the bone on our motorbikes! We were recommended to try out the pub at the Stanley Arms hotel and we were immediately happy once we found it. Warm and cosy inside with delicious hot chocolates and some sticky belgian waffles delivered in good time. Perfect to thaw us out and great hosting from the owners. Would definitely visit again!

The food is outstanding - large portions but you must save room for the fabulous deserts too. A very friendly welcome and a fantastic team led by the wonderful landlady and landlord. Once you’ve eaten here once you will certainly return as it is also fantastic value. We stayed overnight in one of the large comfy bedrooms - you come here to be in a remote location with no WiFi in the bedrooms and a cosy warm real fire in the tradition pub. Delightful!
