Been here many times, whether it be for Sunday lunch or for an evening meal and always impressed. The quality of food is at a very high standard. Would definitely recommend the scallops and prawns starter/the haggis and black pudding! I've attached some photos of our starters and main courses from the other night.

Visit the Ship Inn pub for a quiet drink and a bite to eat. The fire was burning as we entered the room and we had a nice welcome from the owners Peter and Sheila. Different ales to choose from and bar meals, we ordered the steak bagget and home made chips and we throughly enjoyed It. We will definitely...

Really family friendly. Excellent food and really good value for money. Popped in mid-week as near to where we were staying on holiday. Just had to go back a 2nd time. Both visits were excellent - hospitality, excellent food and good local beers.

A couple of our family members stayed recently in the accommodation and we met them for an evening meal. Sheila is a fantastic cook, the haggis and black pudding starter is to die for! Beers are always kept right and are at a decent price. The rooms boast sea views and the breakfast is very good. A little gem in...

I called The Ship to make an enquiry. I asked for Sheila. Some cave dwelling troglodyte snarled down the to me that she was not here and hung up. I called again assuming it was a mistake, perhaps I had mis-heard. Again I asked for Sheila eliciting a "I wuddant knae" response and slammed phone.

Whilst staying in our caravan at Crimdon dene this weekend we looked for a Sunday lunch and found ourselves here. We weren't disappointed we were well looked after from when we arrived to when we left, our waitress was brilliant with the kids and the food was great. We had the mixed meat lunches which with all the trimmings which...

I have been to this restaurant many times. All my major celebrations are here. I've eaten tea-time specials, ala carte dinners, and occasional lunches. I can't recommend it highly enough. Some of the food I've had is: curry; steak; crab; swordfish; sticky toffee pudding. The sticky toffee pudding is the best I've eaten. We have about a thirty mile round...

I brought my partner for his birthday to The Ship, the food was exceptional and the price for the specials menu was very good, 3 courses and wine for £38. The quality and variety of the menu was very good and I would highly recommend a visit. The chef, Sheila, came out to speak to us and you can tell...

Very friendly place run by a straight talking landlord and his wife who are great hosts. Good food a fine selection of real ales and excellent accommodation. We stay in the area regularly visiting family but this was our first stay here. It will be our first choice when we are in the area in future

Absolutely beautiful meal, cooked to perfection, so good we've already booked for Xmas 2016, we liked the thought of not having to rush our meal so other people could have our, the table was ours from twelve noon until five p.m
