Beech Farm is a luxury complex of eight unique and character-laden cottages situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The award-winning conversion retains the original charm of these historic buildings but all of our cottages are equipped with the modern comforts discerning guests expect - high speed Wi-Fi, flat screen smart televisions, dishwashers, Nespresso coffee machines, high thread count Egyptian cotton linen and towels etc. Exclusive to our guests is the use of the indoor heated swimming pool, spa, sauna, children's play facilities (including indoors - dedicated playroom with books toys, an arcade machine, table football and large screen for kids' movie nights - and outdoors - super-sized in-ground trampoline, farm-themed playground, small football pitch) and farm animals to interact with and feed. Located just to the south of the idyllic North York Moors in a picturesque village, within easy reach are countless beautiful walks and bike rides, the historic towns of York and Whitby, vast sandy beaches, country houses, picture postcard villages and plenty of activities to keep young and old fully entertained.

We had a fantastic 3 night midweek stay at THE FARMHOUSE at Beech farm to celebrate a 60th birthday. There was 9 of us from age 3 - 60 and we all had a great time. We received an informative arrival package beforehand which was really useful to book ahead. The farmhouse itself was really well equipped and cosy. It was such a good setup for children, our toddlers enjoyed feeding the goats and petting the rabbits/guinea pigs as well as playing in the brilliant playroom (lots of games and toys for all ages). Even though it was snowy and icy the children still enjoyed playing on the outdoor playground/ football/ table tennis. The swimming pool was such a great asset to the set up being just a few steps away from the accommodation. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We definately reccommend and we will be returning at some point in the future!! Hopefully in warmer climates so we can enjoy outside space even more! Many thanks to Graham, Kirsty and the team for an enjoyable stay! Elouise and family :)

Property's Favourite Review
We booked Beech Farm on the recommendation of friends and simply cannot fault it. My wife, two year old son and I stayed in Beech Royd and the cottage was absolutely perfect for us. Being over 3 floors our son could have the bedroom at the top and nap and sleep without disturbance from us using that rest of the cottage. From the moment of booking Graham was really helpful sorting out a cot, high chair, blackout blind and stair gates. The cottage is spotlessly clean and having seen the team preparing another cottage between guests it’s easy to see why. They spend a long time cleaning each cottage from top to bottom. They have thought of everything from Nespresso pods and dishwasher tablets being provided and even a pint of milk and delicious chocolate brownies. There is a smart TV for Netflix and Prime Video users. The facilities are amazing for adults and children alike, the pool is huge and our son had an amazing time, the outdoor play area is big, safe with large grassed area, trampoline and wooden tractor to climb and play in. The indoor playroom has lots of toys, again it’s spotlessly clean and our son happily played in there most days. The opportunity to feed the animals each morning is great for animal lovers of all ages and my wife particularly enjoyed getting to feed and cuddle Wilma the guinea pig and I enjoyed a fresh egg in the morning from the chickens. The honesty shop is a great idea for anything you may have forgotten or a sweet treat, they even have frozen croissants and meals ready for the oven. All of the team are really friendly and nothing is too much. We’re already booked for next year and can see why they have so many repeat visitors.

We stayed in Dove Tree for 3 nights the week before Christmas and had the best time. Graham and Kirsty are so lovely and helpful arranging a cot, high chair etc for my 17 month old. The swimming pool is great and my daughter absolutely loved the playroom! Feeding the animals was a huge highlight which was thoroughly enjoyed each morning. The cottage itself was impeccably clean and the bed very comfortable - we cannot wait to return!

Our family of 4 enjoyed a lovely break at Beech Farm a few days before Christmas 2022. Prior communication excellent. Pool, playroom and daily goat and sheep feeding sessions / Guinea pig petting a really bonus. It was brilliant to unwind for a few days ahead of the festive season. Thank you and hope to be back again soon.

Just got home from our 2nd stay in 2 years at beech farm. By far the best family holiday location and accommodation you could wish for. The facilities and staff are first class and the cottages are 5 star. We visited as a large group booking 3 of the cottages. The children loved the pool and animal feeding. Attention to detail and family friendly environment is superb

We visited Beech Farm for the 2nd year in succession and had an equally enjoyable stay. Graham,Kirsty and all the staff were incredible hosts and were very accommodating and made our holiday easy and relaxing. The cottage we stayed in was clean and comfortable with the other onsite facilities - games room, animals and particularly the pool were great for us with 9 and 6yr olds to entertain. We could not have been happier with our stay and its location and we hope to return next year.

We had a great time at Beech Farm and would highly recommend it to anyone. Our cottage was spotless as well as being cosy and had everything you could need with a young family. The business seems very well run and there is a lovely attention to detail. We felt welcome and relaxed and really enjoyed our break. We all particularly enjoyed the animal feeding and hope to come back to Beech farm soon

Absolutely stunning cottages! The amenities are fantastic, like a home from home feel. The play area, pool and feeding of the animals gave our break that extra special feel. The hosts are really friendly and went out of their way to make our break special. There’s a lovely little pub about 2 minutes away that is family friendly and the food is fantastic. We visited Pickering which was a delightful village and also went to Castle Howard, which was just beautiful with plenty for the kids to do! I would highly recommend beech farm!

Beech Farm Cottages is truly a hidden gem! Myself, Husband and my three children stayed in Beech Royd Cottage. It felt like home. We was greeted by the very friendly owners who went above and beyond to make our stay an unforgettable one. All the staff are helpful and friendly. The cottage itself was just beautiful, with original features dotted all around. I enjoyed sitting by the fire playing board games with the kids. There was a basket full of reading books for those of you who fancy to curl up with a proper yorkshire cuppa in front of the fire with a book. The pool access was just brilliant and at times felt like our very own private pool. There are pool floats, goggles, noodles all available to purchase in the self serve shop on the site, you pay on your card or leave the money in a box. There is also a sauna if you can hack the heat. Animal petting, grooming and feeding of a morning was a great little bonus for both adults and children. The playroom and park with space for football was wonderful. Plenty of board games, toys, arts and crafts, role play, bean bags, the list goes on... just perfect for the family. I was able to use the dryer for towels (which made me happy haha) Everything you could possibly need for baking and cooking is already there, baking trays and utensils etc.. Cleaning products already in the cottage and a basket of toilet roll, this may sound strange to leave on a review but I find that most self catering stays do not include as much as the Cottages provide, this includes towels and hair dryers. The area itself just looks lovely of an evening when the hanging lights come on. There is a ping pong/tennis table underneath a shelter outside which is situated in what I would describe as a BBQ picnic garden. For those of you who enjoy bird watching, expect a few winged friends to join you hehe, I made friends with a Robin Red Breast. Castle Howard is not too far a drive from the Cottages and is a spectacular day out for the whole family. Pickering markets are open on Mondays and sell all sorts. You can order your groceries online and have them delivered to your cottage aswell, another bonus. Lidl is not too far away either. I would highly recommend Beech Farm Cottages to anyone with or without children. It is a truly relaxing break away, yet still surrounded by excitement and adventure. We really enjoyed our long winter weekend so much so that we will be returning in the summer for a whole week with plans to visit the beaches in Whitby/Scarborough. All in all its a full house rating from The Hughes Family. Our new hidden gem, to become our second home!

First time visit and we are sure we will be back. It lived up to the luxury but family friendly accommodation promised on the website. Fantastic pool, play room and outside space for keeping the little ones (3 and 1) happy and lots of details (treasure hunt, cinema night) that were a bonus! Great little pub around the corner too! Thank you!
