We stayed 3 nights at the Old Smithy in Rosedale. My husband travels for work all around the world and frequently stays in posh hotels. The Old Smithy knocks spots off them all! Beautiful, peaceful location, very comfortable, lovely, friendly hosts, huge breakfast, toasty-warm log burning stove....we loved it here. The weather was rubbish but the accommodation more than made...

We spent a magical 4 days with Ann and Colin at The Old Smithy - never to be forgotten. Amazing hosts, beautiful cottage, stunning scenery. Ann and Colin could not have done more to make our stay more perfect. Breakfast and attention to detail was exemplary.

The Old Smithy and Ann's Cottage has to be the BEST accommodation in Yorkshire. You get a cottage of your choice on a B&B tariff, self catering is an option but why bother, Ann and Colin's breakfast is so delicious, delivered to your cottage each morning. We always order the Full Yorkshire Breakfast.....Quality produce sourced locally....cooked to perfection.....Bacon, Sausage, black...

Just come back from another delightful visit to The Old Smithy and the warm hospitality of Ann and Colin. We also had a glimpse of Anns Cottage which is the other accommodation that Ann and Colin...

Well where do i start, the minute we arrived we were greeted by Ann & Colin the owners as though we were long lost friends, they invited us into their kitchen for a cup of tea & a catch up since we saw them last. (this is the second time we have been) The Old Smithy is a wonderful place...

We stayed at The Old Smithy (next to Ann's Cottage) for three nights in July. From the moment we arrived, we were taken care of with such detail and kindness that we couldn't quite believe the astonishing value with the rates Ann and Colin charge! We've stayed in far, far more expensive hotels and b&b's which The Old Smithy would...

We stayed at The old smithy as self catering but the owners, Ann & colin, do offer B&B if required. The cottage was very spacious, clean and well equipped and we also had the benefit of Ann coming in when we were out making the bed, cleaning up and washing up. She also got our shopping for us and took...
