We stayed here with our 3 lads the night before a visit to Thorpe Park. I was a little apprehensive having read the negative reviews but thought we would be ok for one night. I am so glad as this place was perfect for us and I have no idea why people have given such negative and rude reviews. Firstly,...

I stayed for one night just before Xmas for a funeral nearby. It is a strange place, i never actually meet the owners. I was met with an intercom telling me where to get the key and where my room was. Not exactly friendly and welcoming. I was asked what time I wanted breakfast and I opted for half 8....

Not a lot can be said about this bed & breakfast establishment. I can honestly say, in all my experience of budget places to stay this was strange. It felt like a deserted building, and the only contact was through an intercom,( this was 6pm in the evening) a disembodied voice open the door and directed me to where I...

Inexpensive. Nice arrangement with your own front door. Good breakfast, tea making facilities. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Free wifi is a major plus. Clean, large bathroom. Microwave and fridge in the room for longer stays. Pretty good value for money.

Taking previous reviews into consideration, we did not have high expectations when arriving and that is what we got an average B&B with no frills (other than a TV in our room which was a great bonus). Upon arriving you are greeted by an intercom system and from there you are advised where to go. The room we stayed in...

Just before our arrival I telephoned the owner to say we were a few mins away. She said she had released the door catch to let us in. she asked us what time we would like breakfast. When we arrived the door was locked, but a young lady answered our knock. We were given a front door key and a...

Abrupt & rude 'welcoming' via intercom. Website said all rooms en suite but ours didn't. We complained but told we'd got it wrong so too bad! Bed was falling apart. Toilet paper ran out. Bathroom lock broken. Shower kept overflowing. Horrible place!!!!

I book company staff into B&Bs all the time and at short notice I had to find somewhere near Ruislip. Unfortunately this was what I found, the two staff members claimed there was no one on site at any time, just an intercom system. I was told they would be able to have breakfast early but neither of them were...

1) You will not be greeted by the owner/ or anyone for that matter. You will be given a set of instructions via an intercom by the owner who no doubt resides in luxury a mile away. 2) If you prefer to pick your own mushrooms for breakfast then you're in luck because they grow freely in the bathroom (see...

The moral of the story is do your homework! This was nowhere near where we were going to spend most of the weekend. Unless you are working in the area or possibly flying from Heathrow then I'm not sure what benefit is gained by staying at the Debden. I do accept however, that it's my fault for choice of location....
