Stayed here for 2 nights for a family funeral. Service great. Restaurant service top notch - waiter John was outstanding. Rare steaks were actually rare. Highly recommended. Would come back again no problem.

This is the second time in the Bishop's Grill and things just keep getting better.... Our steaks tonight were perfect and John, our waiter was more than attentive to whatever we wanted even with a party of 30 in the next room the service was second to none! Thanks guys, we'll be back again soon

This hotel is older but it is great place to stay. The staff in every aspect is great. Cheap rooms. I would drive an hour for the food. Everything I had was fantastic. They have a 2 meals for 1 deal that is insane. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Park Head on a weekend coach trip. Staff greeted us from the coach and welcomed us. I realised I had left my glasses at home and a staff member gave step by step instructions on how to get to the shops to buy some. Our room was too hot and the manager came to turn off...

Choice of meat excellent, however that was really the only positive. Yorkshire puddings=bought in, and tasteless. Stuffing=aunt Bessie's stuffing balls, dried out and like bullets Roast potatoes= fried and soft Veg=discoloured Gravy=consistency of water. Tried once but won't go again. Shame

Was told I could get access to my room tonight after been driving around ages been staying there for months and they treat there loyal customers like rubbish. Never use them ever again and I would suggest anyone to stay away from them, hotel is dirty, undated, and just plainly rude staff.

Have stayed here last 3 years on my annual trip to Bishop Auckland. The facilities are ideal for a relaxed, away from bustle vacation. The rooms spacious, clean and well fitted and the staff obliging if there is anything extra you may need. All staff throughout are pleasant and make every effort to make your stay a pleasure.
