I am currently staying at The Imperial Hotel and there is an outbreak of the norovirus in the hotel and other areas of Devon. There are currently well over 15 people ill. Stopped at this hotel at Easter ,Friday till Monday.. travelled with alfa travel.. We stopped in room 309 on the 3rd floor.. room was clean and tidy the bathroom was very small could hardly move in there, we also and a rubbish view of someones very messy backyard. First room, no heating we went in March 2016 and the window would not close, offered a oil radiator which did not arrive, it was a very cold night, after one night in this room we were moved the following morning after havening another word at the reception. Hotel staff were so welcoming and friendly. our room was at the side of the hotel and we had a great view of the sea. Meals were served quickly and efficiently . Lovely helpful staff, meals are at set times, plenty of basic choice food. Parking at the hotel, but only a few places, There was free entertainment at the hotel with bingo at 9.00pm, Free wifi in the lounge only. Rooms were very basic, sheets and blankets only! We stayed in room 214 end of Novemebr into the first week of December 2015. We travelled with Alfa and driver Gareth - a very good driver with a wicked 'dry' sense of humour. Great hotel with hard working & friendly staff. Rooms kept lovely & clean also good food & very good entertainment. Very handy for a bus to Barnstable & a very easy flat walk to the Harbour & the Theatre right opposite

Just got home from a 5 day holiday very good hotel with frienly staff, rooms kept very clean, good food & very good entertainment & dancing in the evening. In a very lovely posision looking out to sea & a bus stop a few yards up the road. Staff are very friendly love the girl that calls the bingo numbers

Perhaps you might be put off reading a few reviews about this hotel, because it does mainly cater for coach parties - and obviously their clients are of a more senior age (like the age of the hotel which is nearly 150 year old). But what difference does age make? It certainly wasn't a drawback during my stay, with dance...
