I stayed for three nights doing walking around North Devon. The room was very large clean and tidy. The host was very kind and chatty each morning. I had a very nice and large breakfast ideal before going walking or going out on the bike and I would advise anyone staying in Ilfracombe to try here.

I visited Ilfracombe for a wedding, my first trip to North Devon, and could not sing Wentworth House higher praises! The accommodation is clean, tidy and comfortable, but what really made the difference is the hosts, who were absolutely fantastic - friendly and welcoming from the start, offering myself, and others from our wedding party a lift to the venue,...

What we liked: We were given a family room although we had only paid for a Double. It was spacious, clean light and airy. If you are used to neutral, chain hotels you will find Wentworth House more traditional in style. The room had two proper armchairs, such a welcome treat in a hotel for those of us who prefer...

Stayed for one night on 26th July with my brother in law as we passed through North Devon. My first impression was of a large and slightly jaded 19th Century building that was a grand semi detached house in its day. However I was pleasantly surprised to find the inside was large yet cosy and ops fashioned in a pleasantly...

Not for those who want that level of luxury, so if you go after reading this and still complain, you are not very bright! What you will get is some good old fashioned and very rare Engilsh hospitality of the highest level. Sharon and her family are very genuine and hard working and make this a must place to use...

We stayed for two nights recently and enjoyed a warm welcome and clean, comfortable if a little dated room. Special arrangements were made for a very early breakfast prior to our fishing trip on Saturday morning. Obviously the place has been running for a good few years but it is everything you need and expect of a traditional seaside hotel...

I, ve read other reviews of the Wentworth and frankly I think my wife and I must inhabit a parallel universe because we found this place to be clean yes, but it smelt of chip fat on our arrival. Geoff to be surly and unwelcomeing, as for the room it was like something from a time warp. I doubt if...

We booked through late rooms and had a brilliant stay, they totally under sell what they provide. The hotel is warm, cosy and very friendly. Sharon is a godsend of information and is a grreat host. The room was too comfy if anything and the whole place very relaxed. The pool room is a great assett, it gives you somewhere...
